On March 10, 2026, Amazon made its Health AI assistant accessible to every U.S. customer by integrating it into Amazon.com and its mobile application. Until this expansion, the service remained confined to the One Medical app for paid subscribers.
The deployment is happening in phases. According to Amazon, the company plans to broaden availability throughout the upcoming weeks until all U.S. customers can access the feature.
There’s no requirement for a Prime subscription or One Medical membership to use the basic functionality. The core service comes at no charge.
The Health AI platform handles inquiries about symptoms and drugs, interprets laboratory findings and medical documentation, and assists with prescription refill management. Additionally, it schedules appointments and links users with One Medical clinicians through messaging, video calls, or face-to-face consultations.
The system can be granted access to users’ personal medical information, including clinical documentation, diagnoses, and test results, via the Health Information Exchange. It also integrates relevant Amazon order history, such as blood pressure devices or supplements.
Additional Benefits for Prime Subscribers
Qualifying U.S. Prime subscribers receive up to five complimentary message-based care sessions with One Medical clinicians, addressing more than 30 medical conditions. These range from respiratory infections and urinary tract infections to seasonal allergies, heartburn, sexual health concerns, and dermatological issues. Amazon estimates this benefit at up to $145 in value.
These complimentary sessions can be distributed among household members via Amazon Family. Students with Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access subscribers are also eligible.
Beyond the promotional offer, each provider consultation costs $29 through One Medical Pay-per-visit. An annual One Medical membership is priced at $99 for Prime subscribers, compared to the regular $199 rate.
Technical Infrastructure and Safety Protocols
The Health AI operates on Amazon Bedrock infrastructure. Its architecture employs a multi-agent framework — a primary agent manages patient interactions, while specialized sub-agents execute distinct functions such as medication management or appointment coordination. Monitoring agents and safety protocols track conversations continuously and can transfer cases to human clinicians when necessary.
Amazon reports that the platform was developed in collaboration with clinical experts at One Medical. Prior to public release, the medical team evaluated it using numerous simulated conversations that tested safety measures, emergency protocols, and regulatory adherence. The company maintains that Health AI must achieve or surpass clinician-level standards on safety-critical judgments before deployment.
Every interaction occurs within a HIPAA-compliant framework. Amazon states it doesn’t utilize protected health data for broad advertising purposes or commercialize customer information.
The assistant isn’t intended to provide diagnoses or formulate treatment strategies independently. When cases prove complicated or demand professional evaluation, it routes users to appropriate providers.
Amazon One Medical maintains collaborative agreements with Rush University System for Health and Cleveland Clinic for specialized care referrals.
The Health AI initially debuted in January 2026 as an exclusive feature for One Medical members, generating favorable feedback from both patients and medical professionals, according to Amazon’s reports.
