Amazon Commits $50 Billion to OpenAI Expansion
Amazon will provide $50 billion as part of the broader $110 billion capital raise. OpenAI set its pre-money valuation at $730 billion under the new agreement. Nvidia and SoftBank will each commit $30 billion to complete the trio.
Amazon will begin with an initial $15 billion investment under agreed conditions. The company will release the remaining $35 billion in phases over the coming months. Other participants may join the round as discussions continue.
OpenAI will use the capital to scale infrastructure and expand global operations. The company plans to strengthen computing capacity and enterprise services. The funding supports a shift from research toward wider commercial deployment.
AWS and OpenAI Expand Long-Term Cloud Agreement
Amazon Web Services will serve as the exclusive third-party cloud provider for OpenAI Frontier. Both companies agreed to expand their existing $38 billion multiyear arrangement. The expansion will add $100 billion over eight years.
The partnership will introduce advanced AI tools to enterprise customers. Amazon and OpenAI will also develop customized models for Amazon developers. These models will power customer-facing applications across Amazon platforms.
OpenAI will integrate its systems more deeply into AWS infrastructure. The companies will coordinate product releases and cloud distribution at scale. This structure strengthens Amazon’s position in enterprise artificial intelligence services.
NVIDIA and Microsoft Partnerships Remain Intact
OpenAI confirmed an expanded partnership with Nvidia alongside the new funding. NVIDIA committed $30 billion to support compute and infrastructure growth. The agreement builds on existing collaboration in advanced chip deployment.
OpenAI also reaffirmed its relationship with Microsoft. The companies have maintained a partnership since 2019. OpenAI stated that the new funding does not alter Microsoft’s existing terms.
ChatGPT now reports more than 900 million weekly active users. The platform also exceeds 50 million paying consumer subscribers. OpenAI aims to convert infrastructure scale into widely adopted products across global markets.
