The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued recalls for five different product lines sold on Amazon and other online retailers. These recalls affect more than 500,000 units sold over the past two years.
The recalled items pose various safety risks including fire hazards, suffocation dangers, and injury risks. Several incidents have already been reported to federal safety officials.
The largest recall involves Anker power banks, with over 480,000 units affected. Models A1647, A1652, A1257, A1681, and A1689 were sold between January and July 2024.
The CPSC has received 33 reports of fire and explosion incidents from these power banks. Four people suffered burn injuries and property damage occurred in several cases.
The lithium-ion batteries in these devices can overheat during use or charging. Anker has instructed users to stop using the devices immediately and visit their recall website for refund instructions.
Baby Product Safety Concerns
LXDHSTRA baby loungers and crib bumpers were recalled due to multiple safety violations. Approximately 360 units were sold on Amazon between May and August 2025.
The loungers have sides that are too low to contain infants safely. The sleeping pads are too thick, creating a suffocation risk for babies.
The foot openings are wider than federal standards allow. This creates fall and entrapment hazards for infants using the products.
The recalled items also include crib bumpers, which are banned under the Federal Safe Sleep for Babies Act. These padded bumpers can block infant breathing and cause death or serious injury.
Youbeien crib mobiles face recall due to battery accessibility issues. About 3,000 units are affected by this safety concern.
The remote controls allow children to access button batteries without tools. If swallowed, these batteries can cause internal chemical burns and death in children.
Children’s Safety Equipment Failures
YooxArmor has recalled nearly 1,800 kids’ helmets for failing federal bicycle helmet standards. The helmets do not provide adequate impact protection during crashes.
The helmets fail to meet requirements for impact absorption, stability, and proper labeling. They cannot protect children from head injuries during bicycle accidents.
IcyBreeze Cooling recalled 22,600 Buddy Portable Misting Fans after overheating incidents. The fans were sold online from November 2023 to August 2024.
Seven overheating incidents have been reported, including two actual fires. The lithium-ion batteries pose fire risks during the charging process.
Consumers must dispose of recalled power banks and misting fans following hazardous waste protocols. The lithium-ion batteries continue to pose fire risks even after disposal.
Refunds are available for all recalled products upon proof of destruction or disposal. Consumers must follow specific instructions provided by each manufacturer.
The CPSC continues to monitor these recalls and investigate any additional safety incidents. Amazon has stated it immediately removes recalled products from its marketplace upon notification.
