Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest purchased over 124,000 shares of Robinhood Markets on December 11, 2025. The buy came as Robinhood stock fell 9% following the company’s announcement of weak November trading data.
ARK split the purchase between two funds. The ARK Innovation ETF bought 96,048 shares while the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF acquired 28,379 shares. The total value of the transaction reached $16.9 million.
This marks the second time in a week ARK has added to its Robinhood position. The firm previously bought 9,400 shares on December 5.
Robinhood released November trading metrics that showed declining activity across its platform. Equity trading volumes dropped 37% compared to the previous month. Options trading fell 28% during the same period.
Cryptocurrency trading on the platform also slowed. Volumes decreased 12% in November. The weaker market conditions affected Robinhood’s assets under custody as well.
ARK Continues Selling Ibotta and Iridium Shares
Assets under custody fell 5% to $325 billion. This represented the first monthly decline since February 2025. Despite the drop in trading activity, Robinhood still reported net deposits of $7.1 billion in November.
The deposit figure marked a 27% increase from October levels. This suggests customers continue adding funds to their accounts even as trading slows.
ARK Invest also made several selling moves on December 11. The firm sold 26,699 shares of Ibotta valued at $596,989. This continued a pattern of Ibotta sales throughout the week.
ARK had previously sold 11,700 Ibotta shares on December 10. The firm also offloaded 99,188 shares on December 9.
The fund reduced its stake in Iridium Communications as well. ARK sold 3,150 shares through its ARK Innovation ETF for $59,409. This followed a larger sale of 176,093 shares on December 10.
ARK made additional purchases beyond Robinhood. The firm bought 36,554 shares of Schrodinger for $655,778 through its ARK Genomic Revolution ETF. It also acquired 26,928 shares of Nurix Therapeutics valued at $528,058.
The fund purchased 13,700 shares of the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF across two funds. The total value reached $88,279.
Wall Street analysts rate Robinhood as a Moderate Buy based on 14 buy ratings, five hold ratings, and one sell rating from the past three months.
