Shares of CoreWeave experienced a significant uptick, rising over 4% during Wednesday’s premarket session after revealing a long-term strategic collaboration with artificial intelligence search platform Perplexity.
Axios broke the story initially. The arrangement enables Perplexity to execute its advanced AI inference operations across CoreWeave’s specialized cloud infrastructure.
The implementation will utilize dedicated clusters powered by NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 technology to manage these computational demands. This infrastructure architecture aims to accommodate Perplexity’s Sonar platform and Search API framework as user demand continues expanding.

Mike Intrator, CEO of CoreWeave, characterized the partnership as evidence of the company’s strategic initiative to expand its customer portfolio. “This partnership reflects a wider mix of emerging AI leaders adopting the CoreWeave platform,” Intrator shared with Axios. “Like many others, they choose us for our unified AI cloud platform — not just access to capacity.”
The deployment has already commenced, with Perplexity currently executing inference operations through CoreWeave Kubernetes Service during this introductory phase.
Additionally, the AI search firm is utilizing W&B Models for training, optimization, and model management throughout the entire development lifecycle.
Factors Behind Perplexity’s Platform Selection
Dmitry Shevelenko, who serves as chief business officer at Perplexity, pointed to both infrastructure capabilities and collaborative approach as primary drivers for selecting CoreWeave. “CoreWeave is an essential partner in our efforts to optimize our infrastructure and the models we use to provide Perplexity users across industries with the strongest AI tools and agents on the market,” he explained.
Max Hjelm, CoreWeave’s SVP of revenue, emphasized that production AI environments require comprehensive solutions beyond basic computing power. “AI applications running in production require best-in-class performance and reliability as well as a cloud platform designed end-to-end for AI,” he noted.
This collaboration aligns with Perplexity’s comprehensive multi-cloud infrastructure approach, providing operational flexibility across various service providers.
Expanding Beyond Infrastructure Services
In addition to the infrastructure component, CoreWeave plans to deploy Perplexity Enterprise Max throughout its internal operations. This implementation provides CoreWeave’s workforce with comprehensive capabilities including web search, internal information retrieval, research functionality, data visualization tools, and AI model integration within a unified interface.
The arrangement represents mutual benefits — CoreWeave secures a significant infrastructure agreement while Perplexity gains a substantial enterprise deployment within a rapidly expanding AI infrastructure company.
CoreWeave has achieved Platinum status in both SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 1.0 and 2.0 assessments, which evaluate AI cloud platforms across performance metrics, operational efficiency, and system reliability. The company stands as the sole AI cloud provider to earn this distinction in both evaluation cycles.
Following its recent public market debut, CoreWeave has been actively expanding its enterprise AI customer base. This Perplexity partnership adds a prominent name to its growing client roster.
CRWV shares were trading up more than 4% during premarket hours on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
