Arjun Balaji, a partner at the firm, is spearheading this initiative. The terminal’s architecture focuses on serving institutional traders and liquidity providers rather than individual retail participants.
Beyond the trading platform, Paradigm is considering the establishment of its own market-making division. Such a desk would involve a dedicated internal team executing buy and sell orders to ensure sufficient liquidity within prediction market ecosystems.
Additionally, the company is collaborating with research teams to develop prediction market indexes. These instruments would aggregate multiple prediction markets into a single tradable asset, mirroring the structure of equity indexes like the S&P 500 that consolidate hundreds of individual stocks.
Paradigm maintains substantial connections to Kalshi, currently the dominant prediction market platform operating in the United States. The venture firm spearheaded Kalshi’s $185 million Series C financing in June 2024, establishing a $2 billion company valuation.
By December 2025, Paradigm orchestrated Kalshi’s substantial $1 billion Series E investment round, pushing the valuation to $11 billion. Following an additional $1 billion capital infusion in March 2026, Kalshi’s valuation reached approximately $22 billion.
Matt Huang, Paradigm’s founder, serves as a board member for Kalshi. He has openly characterized prediction markets as representing a trillion-dollar market opportunity.
Intensifying Competition Within Prediction Markets
Currently, Kalshi and Polymarket dominate the prediction markets landscape. However, the competitive environment is rapidly expanding. Major platforms including Coinbase, Crypto.com, and Genesis have introduced their own prediction market services.
Traditional sports betting companies like DraftKings are also making moves into this sector. Major exchange operators Nasdaq and Cboe are pursuing regulatory authorization to provide prediction market-style binary option products.
Paradigm has previously deployed a monitoring dashboard that tracks transaction volume and outstanding positions across Polymarket, Kalshi, and additional platforms. The dashboard encompasses markets related to sports events, political outcomes, cryptocurrency developments, cultural trends, and financial indicators.
Regulatory Environment Remains Uncertain
The regulatory framework governing prediction markets continues to evolve. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, led by Chairman Michael Selig, has asserted that prediction market operations fall under its regulatory authority.
Despite this federal position, multiple state governments have initiated legal proceedings against companies including Kalshi and Crypto.com. These complaints assert potential violations of state-level gambling statutes.
International regulators in certain jurisdictions have implemented more restrictive measures, completely prohibiting specific prediction market platforms from operating.
The prediction markets sector emerged as one of cryptocurrency’s most rapidly expanding segments in the previous year. Transaction volume has reliably exceeded $10 billion monthly.
Kalshi’s corporate valuation has experienced dramatic growth within a compressed timeframe, escalating from $2 billion in mid-2024 to $22 billion by early 2026. Paradigm has not issued official confirmation regarding the trading terminal development.
