Rockwell expanded its Lucid partnership and tied the move to Lucid’s Saudi Arabia manufacturing buildout. As a result, the update added a clear growth catalyst tied to factory software and regional expansion.
Expanded partnership anchors Saudi production rollout
Rockwell Automation, Inc. deepened collaboration with Lucid to support its facility in King Abdullah Economic City. The site stands as Saudi Arabia’s first vehicle manufacturing facility and supports the Kingdom’s industrial agenda. Rockwell positioned its technology as a core layer for digital operations inside the plant.
Lucid plans to scale manufacturing capacity in the region, and it needs consistent control across production areas. Consequently, Rockwell’s role expands beyond a single line and extends across end-to-end factory workflows. This structure supports faster ramp decisions, and it also strengthens operational coordination across teams.
Rockwell builds industrial automation systems, and it has expanded its digital transformation portfolio over time. Meanwhile, Lucid develops electric vehicles, and it continues to broaden manufacturing beyond the United States. So, the partnership aligns automation expertise with a factory expansion inside a strategic new market.
FactoryTalk MES targets real-time visibility and traceability
Lucid will deploy Rockwell enterprise software, including FactoryTalk manufacturing execution system tools. The system will manage production operations across general assembly, paint, stamping, body, and powertrain shops. In addition, the platform will deliver real-time visibility, traceability, and process control across workflows.
FactoryTalk MES connects equipment data with production records, and it supports standardized execution across shifts. Operators can track work-in-progress faster, and teams can reduce process gaps across stations. This approach supports quality consistency while also improving throughput during higher utilization periods.
Lucid intends to use the platform to support production of future midsize vehicles. Accordingly, the software deployment targets scalability, and it also supports integration with supply chain processes. As production expands, consistent digital records can support compliance, reporting, and operational audits.
Local training adds workforce support and long-term integration
Rockwell’s Saudi team will deliver instructor-led and virtual training programs for local talent. The effort aims to build EV manufacturing skills while supporting workforce development objectives. The training complements software deployment, and it supports smoother adoption across plant roles.
Saudi Arabia has pushed industrial diversification under Vision 2030, and advanced manufacturing plays a central role. A high-profile EV facility adds momentum, and it also expands demand for factory automation expertise. Rockwell’s local presence supports faster implementation cycles and stronger support during ramp phases.
Rockwell employs about 26,000 people across more than 100 countries as of fiscal year-end 2025. The company operates from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it sells automation hardware and software globally. As the Lucid project progresses, Rockwell gains a visible role in a landmark Saudi manufacturing site.
