South Korea’s leading memory chip maker SK Hynix has announced a strategic partnership with Naver Cloud to advance artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, marking a significant step in hardware-software integration for AI applications.
The collaboration, disclosed on Wednesday, seeks to optimize AI memory and storage products in Naver Cloud’s operational environments, combining cutting-edge semiconductor technology with cloud service expertise.
AI Memory Meets Cloud Optimization
SK Hynix will leverage Naver Cloud’s large-scale AI service infrastructure to validate its next-generation memory solutions.
These include innovations like Compute Express Link (CXL) and Processing-In-Memory (PIM) technologies, which are designed to boost memory efficiency, accelerate data processing, and reduce latency in AI computations.
The company has been developing AI-specialized memory solutions since 2018, including the world’s first DDR5 DRAM tailored for Big Data, AI, and machine learning workloads.
“This partnership allows us to test our products in real-world AI scenarios, ensuring optimal performance and seamless integration with cloud-based services,” said an SK Hynix spokesperson.
