Angola’s gaming oversight body has established a limited timeframe for companies to complete their regulatory filings. The ISJ launched a 30-day application period beginning the first of July.
This initiative enables gaming businesses to obtain temporary authorization. The timing aligns with ongoing efforts to complete implementation rules connected to the nation’s Gaming Activity Law.
The regulatory body unveiled these modifications via an official Circular. Authorities presented the document June 29 at a gathering held at the Michael Kennedy Auditorium.
According to ISJ, the primary objective centers on maintaining sector stability and ensuring legal compliance. Gaming enterprises can continue operations throughout the period when final regulatory guidelines are being developed.
“The document aims to ensure legal compliance and safeguard the stability of the sector,” ISJ stated. Officials indicated this framework remains valid until formal implementation rules are released and subsequent public licensing competitions conclude.
Gaming Sector Modernization Advances
The Gaming Activity Law received approval in October 2024. Legislators created the statute to modernize regulatory oversight of Angola’s gaming industry.
These interim provisions aim to preserve market continuity. They simultaneously allow authorities additional time to finalize comprehensive regulations and organize competitive licensing procedures.
The Circular encompasses operators holding permits that expired following the statute’s implementation. Such organizations now possess a mechanism to maintain business activities throughout this transitional phase.
The framework additionally addresses businesses whose authorizations lapsed prior to legislative passage. These entities remain eligible exclusively if they previously informed the regulatory authority of their intention to continue operations.
Within this structure, qualifying businesses have 30 working days for submission. Applications must be processed through the Gaming Supervision System.
ISJ reports this platform will facilitate standardization during the transition. The agency anticipates enhanced predictability throughout the approval process.
