Sands China has secured its position in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices for a sixth consecutive year, according to an announcement made by the company this week.
The Macau-based casino operator has now maintained its presence on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for five years straight. Simultaneously, it has held its spot on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index for six consecutive years.
Exclusive Dual Listing Achievement
According to Sands China, no other integrated resort operator worldwide currently holds positions on both indices concurrently. The company emphasized this unique distinction as a central element of its announcement.
Established in 1999, the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices serve as a widely recognized standard for measuring corporate sustainability achievements.
Each year, S&P Global assembles these indices through a comprehensive evaluation process. This assessment examines over 12,000 corporations spanning diverse sectors around the globe.
Sands China attributed its selection to its concentrated efforts in three strategic pillars: People, Community, and Planet.
Evaluation Criteria and Industry Standing
According to Sands China, 16 integrated resort operators received invitations to participate in this year’s assessment. Among these candidates, only Sands China and its parent organization earned placement on the World Index.
The company further noted that it ranked among just two integrated resort operators securing inclusion on the Asia Pacific Index. This achievement maintained its position within an elite group of operators meeting this year’s stringent criteria.
The parent organization demonstrated equally impressive performance. Las Vegas Sands earned recognition on both the World and North America indices for a seventh consecutive year.
According to Sands China, this demonstrates that the broader corporate group’s sustainability management framework continues receiving international validation.
Grant Chum Kwan Lock, Sands China’s chief executive, addressed the announcement. He expressed the company’s pride in securing placement on both the World and Asia Pacific indices once again.
He noted that this outcome reaffirms Sands China’s standing as the sole integrated resort operator accomplishing this dual recognition. He characterized it as a meaningful validation of the company’s sustainability initiatives.
This marks another sustainability milestone for Sands China in 2024. Earlier in June, the organization earned inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for four consecutive years.
That recognition positioned Sands China within the top 1% tier for both the Global and China editions of the publication. These combined announcements strengthen the company’s ongoing record of sustainability accolades.
With six consecutive years on the Asia Pacific Index and five years on the World Index, Sands China has established an enduring track record across these industry benchmarks. The company’s latest recognition confirms that its parent group similarly maintains representation across multiple regional and international sustainability indices.
