Apple (AAPL) shares reached an unprecedented peak of $344.94 during Monday’s trading session, capping a remarkable 12-month rally of approximately 34%. The stock closed at $344.70, elevating Apple’s total market capitalization to $5.01 trillion.
This milestone follows impressive fiscal third-quarter 2026 performance. Total revenue expanded 16% compared to the prior-year period, with iPhone sales surging 22% and Mac revenue jumping 29%. Earnings per share came in at $2.02, representing a 29% increase year-over-year.
However, that earnings figure requires context. The company benefited from a non-recurring tariff reimbursement valued at $0.11 per share. Excluding this one-time benefit, core EPS growth was approximately 22%βstill impressive but less dramatic than the reported headline number.
Former CEO Tim Cook characterized the results as Apple’s “strongest June quarter ever,” highlighting double-digit expansion across iPhone, Mac, and Services divisions, with growth recorded in every geographic market.
Foldable iPhone Duo and Fiscal 2027 Projections
Apple introduced its inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, in early September 2026. The product launches to consumers in October, meaning its revenue contribution will appear in fiscal first-quarter 2027 earnings reported early next year.
The tech giant also implemented $100 price increases across previous iPhone models, attributing the hike to escalating memory component costs. Wall Street expects this pricing strategy to drive fiscal 2027 revenues to approximately $528 billion, representing roughly 10.5% year-over-year growth.
While that revenue forecast appears promising, profit growth projections tell a more nuanced story. Analysts anticipate EPS of $9.59 for fiscal 2027, suggesting approximately 9% earnings growth. The disappearance of tariff reimbursements combined with persistent memory cost pressures are expected to compress profit margins.
At today’s valuation, AAPL trades at 35.35 times projected fiscal 2027 earnings. This represents a premium of nearly 30% above Apple’s five-year historical average forward price-to-earnings multiple.
Wall Street Divided on Current Valuation
Several analysts remain optimistic about further upside. Evercore ISI elevated its price target to $380, citing survey data showing stronger-than-anticipated consumer appetite for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models.
BofA Securities maintained its Buy recommendation, observing that wireless carrier promotions are effectively mitigating Apple’s increased pricing on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
UBS adopted a more reserved stance, maintaining a Neutral rating while highlighting subdued demand indicators, including reduced wait times for the iPhone 18 Pro versus the previous year’s launch.
The aggregate Wall Street consensus reflects a Moderate Buy rating, derived from 16 Buy ratings, 11 Hold ratings, and 4 Sell ratings issued during the past three months. The mean 12-month price target stands at $337.61, noticeably below the stock’s current trading level.
One analyst assigned a Hold rating, suggesting the recent price appreciation has already captured anticipated gains for investors. They emphasized the elevated forward earnings multiple as justification for restraint, despite acknowledging no significant fundamental concerns with the core business.
Apple maintains a net cash balance sheet when factoring in marketable securities, indicating the company generates profits without meaningful financial leverage.
The latest analyst action remains Evercore ISI’s upgrade to a $380 price target, positioning it as the most bullish Street forecast ahead of the iPhone Duo’s commercial release.
