Shares of ASML advanced on Monday, posting gains of approximately 3% during morning session activity to hit $1,815.84. The semiconductor equipment manufacturer’s stock peaked at an intraday high of $1,818.49 after opening near the session’s lower levels.
The upward momentum followed a research note from UBS analyst Francois-Xavier Bouvignies, who maintained his buy recommendation on the chipmaking equipment giant. Released ahead of market opening, the note retained a price objective of EUR 2,350.
UBS cited ASML’s long-term earnings potential as a key driver behind its optimistic outlook. The investment bank also emphasized the company’s unique market position as the sole provider of extreme ultraviolet lithography technology.
The Swiss bank wasn’t alone in expressing confidence in ASML this week. Bank of America Securities had reaffirmed its buy recommendation three trading sessions earlier.
Barclays also sustained its buy stance during the week. This cluster of positive analyst calls gives ASML three separate buy recommendations within a compressed timeframe.
These ratings arrive just ahead of ASML’s quarterly financial disclosure. The company plans to unveil third-quarter performance metrics on October 14, 2026.
Analyst consensus currently anticipates earnings per share of $12.54 for the period. Revenue forecasts are clustered around $13.18 billion.
Company-Driven Performance
Monday’s broader equity markets provided minimal support for ASML’s rally. The Nasdaq Composite edged slightly lower while the S&P 500 remained essentially unchanged.
This divergence suggested the stock’s strength was driven by company-specific catalysts rather than general market momentum. The advance occurred independently of benchmark index performance.
ASML’s second-quarter 2026 performance had already provided a solid foundation for investor sentiment. The Netherlands-based firm delivered EUR 9.33 billion in net revenue with gross margins reaching 54%.
Chipmaking equipment manufacturers have attracted consistent investor attention throughout the year. The primary catalyst has been AI-related demand for semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure.
Production Expansion Outlook
In a separate research note released Sunday, UBS offered insights into ASML’s manufacturing expansion strategy. The bank suggested the company’s capacity growth objectives might be elevated beyond current targets.
ASML announced in July its intention to boost production of both deep ultraviolet and extreme ultraviolet systems by 30% during 2027. A similar 30% expansion is projected for 2028.
UBS analysts believe these benchmarks could be revised upward given robust demand for artificial intelligence chips. The firm also anticipates ASML may project 2027 revenue growth surpassing 30% compared to the prior year.
Monday’s trading session saw ASML fluctuate between $1,800.40 and $1,818.49. The shares maintained positioning near the upper boundary of this range through early afternoon hours.
