Shares of Astera Labs climbed 5.4% during Monday’s pre-market session following Northland Securities’ decision to elevate the AI connectivity semiconductor company to Outperform from Market Perform, accompanied by a $350 price objective.

Northland’s recommendation highlighted expectations for favorable earnings estimate revisions alongside an AI infrastructure investment wave the firm now considers more sustainable than its earlier projections suggested.
The ratings boost follows impressive second-quarter performance. Astera delivered record-breaking revenue of $392.4 million in Q2, marking 104% year-over-year expansion and surpassing the approximately $360 million Wall Street consensus. Non-GAAP earnings per share reached $0.80, exceeding forecasts by $0.11.
Company leadership subsequently projected roughly 40% sequential revenue growth for the third quarter, guidance that sparked a series of upward price target adjustments from Citi, Jefferies, and Morgan Stanley during early August.
Northland had previously increased its Q3 earnings per share projections following the quarterly report before announcing Monday’s comprehensive upgrade.
Amazon Reveals $134 Million Investment
Amplifying the positive momentum, recent SEC disclosures showed Amazon acquired 277,777 shares of ALAB stock throughout Q2, representing approximately $134.2 million in value. This investment now comprises 3.0% of Amazon’s total investment portfolio, establishing it as the company’s 4th largest equity holding.
Institutional ownership remains robust overall. Hedge funds and institutional money managers collectively control 60.47% of outstanding ALAB shares.
Additional firms expanded their positions during the second quarter, including Trifecta Capital Advisors, which established a fresh stake valued at $79,000, and CX Institutional, which increased its holdings by more than 1,300%.
Wall Street Price Targets Continue Climbing
The analyst community has maintained a predominantly optimistic stance. Stifel Nicolaus increased its price objective from $260 to $460 with a Buy recommendation in late June. JPMorgan elevated its target from $205 to $280 with an Overweight rating. UBS maintained a Neutral stance with a $425 target. Zacks Research upgraded ALAB to Strong Buy on August 11.
The average price target among all covering analysts currently stands at $325.25, supported by 13 Buy recommendations, 1 Strong Buy rating, and 9 Hold ratings.
Northland additionally highlighted Astera’s opportunity to increase content per rack and capture additional switching fabric across both scale-up and scale-out AI infrastructure deployments as significant long-term growth catalysts.
For the ongoing fiscal year, Wall Street analysts collectively project Astera Labs will generate $2.70 in earnings per share.
The semiconductor company recorded a return on equity of 19.24% and a net margin of 30.74% during Q2. Its 50-day moving average currently rests at $358, while the 200-day moving average sits at $240.74.
