Data published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated the Producer Price Index advanced 5.4% on a year-over-year basis, marginally exceeding the consensus estimate of 5.3%. On a monthly comparison, producer prices climbed 0.4%, matching market forecasts. The core PPI measure increased 0.2% from the previous month, reversing a prior 0.3% contraction.
In response to the inflation release, the CME FedWatch tool reflected market participants assigning a 74% probability to a rate increase at the Federal Open Market Committee gathering scheduled for September 15-16, with expectations pointing toward a target range of 3.75% to 4.00%.

Widespread Cryptocurrency Selloff Intensifies
The CoinDesk 20 benchmark index declined approximately 3%, representing nearly double Bitcoin’s percentage loss. Ninety-five constituents within the CoinDesk 100 token universe concluded the trading period in negative territory.
Zcash emerged as the most significant decliner among prominent digital assets, tumbling roughly 12% to approximately $1,134.
