Despite Cardano’s dramatic 95% pullback from its September 2021 all-time high of $3.09, founder Charles Hoskinson maintains an optimistic outlook, asserting that the project’s “best days are ahead.”
The statement emerged during a recent Ask Me Anything session on X, where Hoskinson directly confronted mounting criticism surrounding ADA’s extended price deterioration.
Presently valued at approximately $0.165, ADA has experienced a precipitous 53% decline throughout 2026. The downward trajectory accelerated over the past week following a brief rally that saw prices approach $0.20 on July 5.

Cardano’s challenges extend well beyond market valuation. Internal governance conflicts, developer project cancellations, and the scrapping of the planned 2026 summit have collectively dampened community confidence. Following a temporary social media hiatus, Hoskinson returned to confront the mounting criticism head-on.
“I remain convinced that our finest achievements lie before us, and that success is attainable despite the obstacles we’ve encountered. The path forward requires adjusting our methodology and reimagining our strategic direction,” Hoskinson stated during the X session.
Treasury Reform Proposal
Hoskinson has championed a comprehensive treasury funding restructure, aiming to address an accumulated backlog exceeding 600 million ADA in pending project requests.
The core obstacle stems from a restrictive limit. Cardano’s treasury protocol permits just 350 million ADA in net funding modifications during any single cycle, creating a substantial shortfall against developer demands.
His remedy involves decentralizing development efforts across multiple autonomous organizations, reducing dependency on Input Output Global, his primary company.
According to Hoskinson, sustainable value appreciation for ADA stems from enhanced network infrastructure and practical applications rather than speculative trading activity.
Technical Analysis Reveals Bearish Momentum
Derivatives market data reinforces negative sentiment. According to CoinGlass metrics, ADA’s long-to-short position ratio stands at 0.82, approaching its lowest point in a month. Ratios falling beneath one indicate traders are predominantly positioned for further declines.
Funding rates transitioned into negative territory over the weekend, registering -0.008 on Monday. This configuration indicates short position holders are compensating long holders, typically signaling bearish market expectations.
ADA is trading beneath its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day exponential moving averages, which converge within the $0.180 to $0.270 range.
The Relative Strength Index registers approximately 47, marginally beneath the neutral threshold, indicating subdued price momentum. Meanwhile, the MACD indicator displays only minor recovery signals against the dominant downward trend.
Market analyst Token Talk identified a developing inverse head and shoulders formation on the daily timeframe. According to their assessment, a decisive breakout above the pattern’s neckline could propel ADA toward the $0.24 resistance threshold.
Current support rests at $0.150, with a secondary defense level positioned around $0.137. Monday’s funding rate data confirmed a reading of -0.008.
