DataMEDS AI (NASDAQ: MEDS) experienced a significant rally on Tuesday, with shares closing 87.20% higher at $1.62 after announcing the successful completion of its Helomics Corporation acquisition from Axe Compute Inc. (NASDAQ: AGPU). The equity demonstrated strong momentum throughout the day, having already climbed 66% during pre-market hours before accelerating during regular trading.
The transaction was structured with a total valuation of $1.5 million, consisting of common stock issuance and an acquisition note. Notably, DataMEDS avoided assuming any external debt obligations through this arrangement.
As consideration, DataMEDS obtained Helomics’ fully certified CLIA/CAP clinical laboratory facility, complete equipment ownership, the established Predictive Oncology contract research organization (CRO) central laboratory services division, plus $1.5 million in cash proceeds.
Pittsburgh-based Helomics leverages artificial intelligence technology to interpret real-world tumor datasets. The laboratory provides support for pharmaceutical development and oncological treatment planning through its functional precision medicine platform.
This strategic acquisition positions DataMEDS for immediate participation in the substantial U.S. cancer diagnostics and therapy industry, currently valued at approximately $40 billion.
Broadening Healthcare Portfolio Beyond Current Focus Areas
Gerald Commissiong, serving as Interim Co-CEO of DataMEDS, highlighted that this transaction propels the organization into the oncology sector, emphasizing enhanced care delivery for underserved rural patient populations. He emphasized DataMEDS’ strategic intention to diversify its portfolio beyond current GLP-1 agonist adverse event management and Long COVID services to encompass comprehensive cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
Operating under DataMEDS’ management, Helomics is positioned for substantial expansion beyond its existing tumor molecular profiling and chemosensitivity analysis capabilities. The development roadmap encompasses comprehensive cancer screening programs, conventional CLIA laboratory testing services, and specialized nutritional therapy for oncology patients.
Axe Compute’s CEO Chris Miglino indicated that the transaction framework preserves his organization’s equity stake in Helomics moving forward. Following this divestiture, Axe Compute will concentrate resources on expanding its primary AI infrastructure operations.
Helomics represented the final operational asset from Axe Compute’s former corporate structure as Predictive Oncology Inc., prior to the company’s December 2025 rebranding initiative.
