Reward percentages vary according to the aggregate asset value customers maintain across the Krak application, Kraken exchange platform, and Kraken Pro trading interface. Unlike traditional programs, these incentives are distributed as actual currency rather than loyalty points.
During checkout transactions, the payment card seamlessly transforms selected asset holdings into United States dollars. Cardholders maintain control over asset liquidation priority and possess the capability to allocate individual transactions across various balance sources.
Lead Bank serves as the issuing institution for the Krak Card, operating on Visa’s global payment network while leveraging Stripe Issuing’s technological framework. American customers meeting eligibility requirements can access both tangible plastic cards and digital virtual versions.
Debt-Free Rewards Alternative
According to Krak, the product targets consumers seeking reward programs without incurring credit obligations. Research commissioned by Krak surveying more than 2,000 American adults revealed that 42% of credit card users experience anxiety regarding monthly balance repayment.
The identical research indicated that 60% of participants would transition to a debit card platform offering substantial rewards without necessitating debt accumulation.
Kraken currently operates more than 135,000 active multi-asset cards throughout the United Kingdom and European Economic Area markets following its December 2025 international launch.
This product positions Krak as a direct competitor to established financial technology applications including CashApp, Venmo, SoFi, Robinhood, and Chime.
Beyond standard interchange revenue generation, Kraken pursues a strategic approach centered on consolidating customer financial activities within its ecosystem, utilizing the card to preserve deposit balances and stimulate transaction volume.
Payward Pursues Comprehensive Financial Services Expansion
Payward, serving as Kraken’s corporate parent entity, continues advancing its comprehensive financial services initiative. Co-Chief Executive Officer Arjun Sethi addressed attendees at Tuesday’s Wyoming Blockchain Symposium regarding expansion plans encompassing additional asset categories and financial instruments.
“As you start expanding into multiple asset classes, you’re just generally gonna be less susceptible to very specific markets,” Sethi said.
Sethi identified tokenization as a cornerstone of Payward’s strategic roadmap, comparing the organization’s objectives to established financial institutions such as JPMorgan.
Kraken maintains a Wyoming banking charter and achieved a historic milestone earlier this year as the inaugural cryptocurrency firm obtaining Federal Reserve master account authorization, enabling its banking division to interface directly with American payment infrastructure.
Coinciding with the card’s American debut, Kraken simultaneously introduced trading capabilities for over 7,000 publicly traded US stocks to European Economic Area customers.
Established in 2011, Kraken traditionally catered to cryptocurrency-focused clientele including institutional investors and advanced traders. The organization currently prioritizes expanding its presence among everyday retail consumers.
