Oracle Corporation expanded community outreach for Project Jupiter in New Mexico as ORCL stock fell 1.47% to $189.80. The stock traded lower through most of the session, although it briefly moved toward $195. The data center project now enters a wider public information phase across the state.
Oracle Corporation, ORCL
The company said the new outreach will explain the project’s economic role, jobs plan, community funding, and water strategy. Project Jupiter representatives will meet residents through direct engagement and a community open house in Santa Teresa. The outreach also includes bilingual materials for English and Spanish-speaking residents.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure has presented Project Jupiter as a major long-term development for Doña Ana County. The company says the project differs from conventional data centers because of its energy and water approach. It also links the site to broader cloud infrastructure demand across the United States.
Jobs And Local Funding Take Focus
Project Jupiter is expected to create more than 4,000 construction jobs during development. Oracle also expects 1,500 ongoing project-supported jobs after construction ends. During construction, the project could generate about $384 million in annual economic impact.
After the data center begins operations, Oracle expects about $113 million in yearly economic impact. The company also plans $360 million in direct support for schools, infrastructure, and local services. These commitments place local funding at the center of Oracle’s New Mexico pitch.
Project Jupiter also includes $6.9 million for workforce development and community programs. The funding covers the Boys and Girls Club of Las Cruces and habitat restoration efforts. Therefore, Oracle aims to connect the project with employment, education, and local service improvements.
Energy And Water Plans Draw Attention
Oracle says it will fund all energy costs tied to Project Jupiter. The company says this plan aims to protect residential electricity rates. The project will also use a fuel cell-powered energy strategy as part of its operating model.
The company says the cooling system and fuel cell solution will avoid the local public drinking-water supply. Both systems will need a one-time startup fill using non-potable water from an existing rights holder. Oracle says ongoing water needs will equal the average annual use of two U.S. households.
The project’s water plan remains central to public outreach in New Mexico. Data centers often face scrutiny because they require energy, land, and water resources. However, Oracle is positioning Project Jupiter around limited water use, local funding, and long-term infrastructure growth.
