According to Jon Powers, who leads Global Defense and Intelligence operations at Planet, the contract demonstrates increasing appetite for advanced geospatial intelligence and accompanying support capabilities within these sectors.

The European contract represents the latest in a series of defense-focused agreements for Planet. Earlier in 2026, the company secured contracts with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Sweden’s Armed Forces, and the Defense Innovation Unit.
