Ripple’s institutional brokerage division, Ripple Prime, has unveiled a delta one trading operation designed to provide institutional investors with unified access to US equities, market indexes, and cryptocurrency assets.
The offering enables clients to engage in total return swap transactions, providing full economic participation in equity performance without requiring direct asset ownership. The service specifically targets hedge funds, investment managers, ETF creators, and professional market makers.
Understanding the Delta One Service
Delta one instruments replicate asset performance on a one-to-one basis without necessitating physical ownership. Ripple Prime’s implementation encompasses US exchange-listed stocks, equity benchmarks, and cryptocurrency holdings within a single integrated platform.
Institutional participants can optimize margin requirements by cross-collateralizing positions across multiple asset categories at any time. This continuous market access aligns traditional financial products with the non-stop operational model characteristic of cryptocurrency trading venues.
According to Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel, the expansion represents a logical progression for the platform. He noted that institutional clients have consistently requested consolidated cross-asset exposure through a singular counterparty relationship.
The company emphasizes its exclusive focus on clearing and financing services, maintaining separation from market-making activities and proprietary trading operations. This structural approach, according to Ripple, minimizes potential conflicts with institutional client interests.
Capital Structure and Financial Resources
Earlier this month, Ripple Prime successfully completed a $275 million private offering of senior unsecured notes. Additionally, the firm obtained a $200 million credit arrangement from investment vehicles managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance during the first quarter of this year.
The operation currently maintains regulatory net capital exceeding $1 billion. Kimmel indicated these resources will fund expansion in personnel and technological infrastructure.
Ripple Prime emerged from Ripple’s $1.25 billion purchase of Hidden Road, finalized in 2025. The acquisition provided Ripple with an operational institutional prime brokerage serving both conventional and cryptocurrency markets.
The delta one platform launch represents a deeper push into traditional finance sectors. Ripple continues positioning itself as a connector between conventional banking and digital assets, complementing its Ripple National Trust Bank initiative.
