On Monday, Spotify and Peloton unveiled a worldwide collaboration that integrates over 1,400 Peloton fitness and wellness sessions into Spotify’s streaming platform. These sessions are now natively integrated within Spotify’s audio and video framework and accessible to Premium members across nearly all operational markets.
The workout library encompasses diverse training modalities — including strength workouts, Pilates, barre, yoga, stretching routines, meditation sessions, floor-based cardio, plus outdoor running and walking programs. Sessions are offered in English, Spanish, and German, featuring Peloton’s recognized instructor team.
This collaboration represents Spotify’s debut venture into wellness programming. The streaming giant referenced internal metrics to justify the expansion: more than 150 million fitness-focused playlists exist on the service, with approximately 70% of Premium members exercising at least monthly.
“Spotify has served as the world’s workout soundtrack for almost twenty years,” noted Roman Wasenmüller, VP and Global Head of Podcasts at Spotify. “But audio alone was just the starting point.”
Peloton Pursues Content-Driven Growth Strategy
For Peloton, this agreement represents another milestone in its transition from hardware-focused operations. The fitness company has been actively monetizing its content catalog and instructor expertise through external distribution channels.
Dion Camp Sanders, Peloton’s Chief Commercial Officer, described the partnership as “our latest strategic initiative to broaden our market presence and unlock additional revenue opportunities through Peloton’s industry-leading content, experiences, and instructional excellence.”
The collaboration provides Peloton entry to Spotify’s enormous worldwide subscriber network — reaching hundreds of millions of Premium accounts — with no requirement for Peloton hardware ownership.
Partnership Details
The fitness section went live today for Premium subscribers. Spotify confirmed that fresh content will be continuously added to the collection.
Both companies kept financial details of the arrangement confidential.
Peloton shares (PTON) increased 2.22% following the announcement. Spotify stock (SPOT) declined 0.78%.
This partnership signals Peloton’s most significant transformation yet from equipment manufacturer to content provider. Classes that were previously exclusive to Peloton’s proprietary app or devices are now distributed through one of the planet’s most widely adopted streaming services.
Spotify’s fitness section is currently accessible throughout the majority of its international footprint.
