Shares of Super Micro Computer (SMCI) advanced more than 2% Thursday following the company’s announcement of its H15 server lineup, which leverages AMD’s newest 6th-generation EPYC 9006 Series chips. Friday’s opening price stood at $31.20, within its 52-week trading band of $19.48 to $62.36.

The H15 series delivers configurations supporting up to 256 cores and 512 threads. This represents a substantial increase in processing capability for organizations deploying agentic AI, high-performance computing applications, and demanding enterprise workloads.
The new product lineup spans multiple deployment scenarios. It features dual-socket Hyper servers optimized for AI inference and cloud computing, CloudDC systems designed around OCP specifications, and high-density GrandTwin and FlexTwin configurations engineered for hyperscale deployments.
Supermicro also introduced enhanced Petascale Storage solutions aimed at AI data lakes and analytics workflows.
For GPU-accelerated computing, the company refreshed its AMD GPU server portfolio with new 5U PCIe configurations supporting up to ten AMD Instinct MI350P GPUs.
Performance Improvements
According to Supermicro, the H15 systems provide a 1.7x performance increase compared to their predecessors. The platform also features enhanced memory bandwidth and greater compute density.
These advancements enable organizations to operate more AI agents concurrently while speeding up business-critical applications, the company stated.
Vik Malyala, Supermicro’s Chief Business Officer, noted that the AMD-based platforms provide “high performance, rapid scalability, and peak efficiency” for organizations implementing AI infrastructure at scale.
Dan McNamara, general manager of Compute and Enterprise AI at AMD, emphasized that combining EPYC CPUs with Instinct GPUs and Pensando networking technology enables businesses to deploy AI solutions more quickly while reducing energy consumption and overall expenses.
Joint Development of Helios Platform
Beyond standalone server products, Supermicro and AMD are collaborating on the Helios Platform. This rack-scale infrastructure incorporates 72 GPUs and targets large-scale AI training applications.
The liquid-cooled architecture integrates EPYC CPUs, Instinct GPUs, Pensando networking components, and AMD’s ROCm software ecosystem to address cutting-edge AI computational demands.
Among institutional investors, several have made notable moves. Fifth Third Bancorp expanded its SMCI holdings by 240% in Q1, increasing its position to approximately $1.49 million. Geode Capital Management maintains ownership of more than 13.8 million shares worth roughly $402.6 million. Invesco expanded its stake by 21.2% during Q4, while Norges Bank established a fresh position valued at $136.6 million. Currently, institutional ownership represents 84.06% of SMCI’s shares outstanding.
SMCI’s most recent earnings release came on May 5th. The company reported earnings per share of $0.84, exceeding the $0.63 consensus forecast by $0.21. Revenue reached $10.24 billion, marking a 122.7% year-over-year increase, though missing the $12.39 billion analyst projection.
Looking ahead to Q4 2026, Supermicro provided EPS guidance ranging from $0.65 to $0.79. Analyst projections for the full year point to EPS of $2.11.
Mizuho reduced its price objective to $34 while maintaining a neutral stance. Raymond James lowered its target to $39. Rosenblatt kept a buy rating with a $45 price target. The overall analyst consensus remains at “Hold” with an average price objective of $39.21.
