The Uniswap (UNI) token experienced a significant rally, climbing from $6.63 to $8.49, following an announcement from the US Securities and Exchange Commission regarding a temporary framework. This framework permits specific tokenized US equities to be traded via permissioned automated market maker (AMM) platforms.

While the SEC’s announcement didn’t specifically approve Uniswap or its v4 protocol, the regulatory body established a compliance pathway for tokenized stock trading utilizing permissioned AMM infrastructure. This development closely matches the infrastructure Uniswap has previously developed and implemented.
Back in July 2026, Uniswap rolled out its Permissioned Pools feature, collaborating with multiple organizations such as Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo. These specialized pools limit participation to verified wallets through on-chain compliance mechanisms, positioning them as an ideal match for the SEC’s newly announced framework.
Additionally, the SEC’s framework provides conditional regulatory exemptions to qualified liquidity providers who support these compliant pools. This creates fresh revenue opportunities for entities participating in the Uniswap platform.
The UNI token successfully broke through the $6.50 resistance barrier and momentarily reached $8.86 before stabilizing around $8.53. This price movement was accompanied by elevated trading activity, with open interest expanding to 11.21 million UNI tokens, signaling increased engagement in the derivatives marketplace.
Market analyst Crypto Patel shared on X that UNI has gained 285% from his initial accumulation range, emphasizing that attention is now focused on the $9.50 level. According to his analysis, successfully breaking and maintaining above $9.50 could trigger moves toward $14, $26, and potentially $50, though a rejection at this level might establish $5.40 as critical support.

Platform Development Strengthens Fundamentals
