BetHog, the cryptocurrency-focused casino and sportsbook platform created by the team behind FanDuel, has successfully closed a $10 million Series A investment round. Alongside the funding announcement, the company unveiled Sentient Studios, a business-to-business solution that enables online casino operators to integrate AI-driven live dealers into their platforms.
The investment round was jointly led by Will Ventures and RockawayX, with participation from PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital.
This latest capital injection elevates BetHog’s cumulative funding to $16 million since its establishment in 2024.
According to CEO and co-founder Nigel Eccles, the company conducted extensive testing of its AI dealer technology over a six-month period with impressive outcomes. He reported that the AI dealer demonstrates “10X more popularity than its live dealer equivalent” while delivering improved player retention and satisfaction metrics.
Inside the Sentient Studios Platform
Sentient Studios was developed to provide casino operators with enhanced flexibility in their live dealer operations. Under conventional arrangements, operators depend on third-party studio providers for live dealer services, which often restricts their ability to customize capacity, localization, and product features.
The new platform enables operators to dynamically adjust table availability based on demand and offer support across numerous languages. Additionally, operators can modify dealer experiences in real time without the overhead of managing physical studio infrastructure or personnel.
The business model centers on pure revenue sharing. With no upfront fees or binding contracts, operators can experiment with the technology at minimal financial risk.
Eccles suggested that AI dealers could eliminate barriers for players who find traditional live dealers intimidating. Player feedback indicates the AI-powered experience feels “more welcoming and less intimidating.”
He highlighted systemic challenges within the conventional human dealer framework as a contributing factor. Eccles noted that live dealers frequently earn minimum wage, work overnight shifts, and communicate in languages that aren’t their native tongue.
He further explained that dealers face penalties for errors while receiving no incentives to create engaging broadcasts. Employee retention in these positions typically spans just months, he observed.
“The result is that 95%+ of streams are dull with dealers speaking robotically and often incoherently,” Eccles said. “In this scenario, AI can actually deliver a more human experience than humans.”
Investment Partners and Future Plans
Will Ventures concentrates on investments within sports, entertainment, and consumer sectors. RockawayX operates as a digital asset investment firm overseeing more than $2 billion in assets across venture capital, credit, and infrastructure portfolios.
BetHog’s inaugural AI dealer, a blackjack character called Sunny, went live in October 2025. Sunny now supports 12 languages and has emerged as one of the platform’s most frequently played offerings.
The company has outlined plans to introduce baccarat and roulette AI dealers before the end of this year. BetHog currently supports deposits in 10 different cryptocurrencies and provides gaming experiences in 14 languages.
BetHog indicated the Series A capital will fund expansion of its AI dealer technology and drive wider adoption among international operators. While Sentient Studios is currently exclusive to BetHog’s proprietary platform at launch, Eccles revealed to media that the company has initiated conversations with external operators about integration opportunities.
