Salesforce, Inc.(CRM) stock fell 1.87% to $166.35, as shares weakened early and then traded mostly sideways. The company announced a major U.S. Air Force deployment for Missionforce National Security. The deal strengthens Salesforce’s public sector profile as defense agencies modernize logistics systems.
Air Force Moves Fleet Operations to Salesforce Platform
The U.S. Air Force 441st Vehicle Support Chain Operations Squadron now uses Missionforce National Security for fleet management. The unit oversees a $13.5 billion fleet with more than 84,000 vehicles. It also supports operations across nearly 389 locations.
The squadron needed a new system after its legacy fleet platform approached retirement. Therefore, it selected an IL5-authorized platform designed for secure national defense work. The move also supports more than 7,300 personnel without disrupting mission operations.
Salesforce built the deployment on Government Cloud Plus Defense, which supports sensitive public sector workloads. The platform gives the Air Force a single digital base for fleet data. As a result, commanders can track assets, requests, and readiness through one system.
Missionforce Targets Visibility and Logistics Speed
Missionforce National Security combines Salesforce applications built for defense operations and logistics work. The platform brings vehicle data from scattered systems into a unified interface. This helps fleet managers improve reporting, planning, and asset movement across bases.
The Air Force can now manage more than 51,000 requests through the system. Personnel can record arrivals, update vehicle status, and set delivery locations in real time. In turn, the platform reduces manual work and supports faster distribution decisions.
The system also supports contingency planning through a Salesforce-built application called MELRAT. VSCOS now identifies eligible inventory for special missions within minutes. Previously, the same process could take days and slow urgent planning.
Salesforce Builds National Security Footprint
Salesforce has increased its focus on defense, government, and intelligence customers through secure cloud products. Missionforce National Security gives agencies tools for workflows, analytics, and custom applications. It also supports strict security controls required for national defense environments.
The Air Force deployment creates a cleaner data foundation for future automation and analytics. VSCOS already plans to test AI use cases for data entry, VIN checks, and sensor analysis. These tools could support predictive maintenance and reduce vehicle downtime.
The announcement adds to Salesforce’s broader government contract momentum. The company recently highlighted a $72 million Department of the Air Force enterprise license agreement. It also points to a $5.6 billion Army contract vehicle as part of its public sector expansion.
