The automotive giant delivered encouraging first-quarter shipment figures on Wednesday, triggering an enthusiastic market reaction—shares surged over 4% during Paris trading hours immediately after the announcement.
The company announced that worldwide vehicle deliveries increased 12% on a year-over-year basis to approximately 1.36 million units during the January through March quarter. This performance continues a recovery trajectory that gained momentum during the latter half of 2025, coming after a challenging period that saw the company report a net loss of €22.3 billion.
Chief Executive Antonio Filosa, who assumed leadership responsibilities last year, has prioritized market share recovery as his primary objective. The executive is scheduled to present a comprehensive industrial strategy on May 21.
The North American market emerged as the undisputed leader in performance. Regional deliveries climbed 17% to reach 379,000 vehicles, representing an addition of approximately 54,000 units versus the comparable quarter last year. This growth was fueled by strong demand for the V8-equipped Ram light-duty pickup, the redesigned Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and the introduction of the latest Jeep Cherokee model.
European Market Strength Fueled by Product Launches
The European region also delivered robust results, with shipments expanding 12% to 637,000 vehicles, an increase of roughly 69,000 units on a year-over-year basis. Multiple new product introductions provided significant momentum, featuring the Citroën C3, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Frontera, and Fiat Grande Panda.
Vehicles carrying the Leapmotor badge achieved remarkable growth throughout the European market. Deliveries more than doubled to reach approximately 27,000 units. The automaker maintains a 20% ownership position in the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer and operates a strategic partnership to distribute and produce Leapmotor vehicles in markets outside China.
South America, representing the company’s third-largest regional market, experienced a 4% increase in shipments to 219,000 vehicles. The Asia Pacific territory expanded 15% to 15,000 units, while the Middle East and Africa combined region posted an 11% gain to 111,000 vehicles.
Gulf Region Deliveries Severely Impacted by War-Related Disruptions
A notable trouble spot emerged in the Gulf Cooperation Council territories. Deliveries there collapsed by more than 50% to approximately 3,000 vehicles. The company cited disruptions related to the continuing Iran conflict, which has substantially weakened demand throughout the area.
While this represents a dramatic decline in isolation, it constitutes a relatively minor portion of overall global volume considering the manufacturer’s extensive worldwide operations.
The first-quarter figures represent shipment data exclusively—Stellantis has not yet disclosed Q1 financial results or profitability metrics. Market participants will be monitoring the May 21 presentation closely, when Filosa is anticipated to outline the corporation’s complete strategic blueprint going forward.
The stock’s 4% appreciation in Paris trading on Wednesday signals investor optimism regarding the shipment recovery, as the automaker advances its transformation efforts under fresh leadership.
