Dogecoin (DOGE) experienced a sharp 10% rally over the past 24 hours, reaching approximately $0.078 at press time. This upward movement occurred during a wider memecoin sector resurgence that saw PEPE climb 19% and Shiba Inu advance 10%.

The overall memecoin market capitalization expanded by over 5.37%, while trading volume skyrocketed 189% to reach approximately $4.14 billion. Dogecoin dominated activity levels, recording daily volume of roughly $1.28 billion ā representing more than half its weekly total compressed into one session.

A significant catalyst for this movement was the U.S. Treasury’s announcement to double its long-term bond repurchase program. This action pumped liquidity into financial markets and applied downward pressure on the dollar, creating favorable conditions for dollar-denominated assets such as DOGE.
The cryptocurrency Fear & Greed Index jumped from 46 to 62, entering the “Greed” zone. During this same timeframe, Bitcoin surpassed $70,000 while Ethereum broke above $2,200.
In derivatives markets, perpetual futures Open Interest expanded to 17.21 billion DOGE, compared to 16.87 billion recorded the previous day. Funding rates have maintained positive territory since August 5, indicating that bullish traders continue paying premiums to maintain long exposure.
Payment Network Integration Provides Additional Momentum
DOGE recently integrated with the Paxos payment network, which powers the infrastructure for PayPal and Venmo. This development could potentially expose Dogecoin to millions of active users across these established platforms.
However, despite the positive price movement, DOGE Spot ETFs have recorded zero inflows following a net outflow of $564K on August 13. Institutional engagement continues to lag at this stage.
Market analyst chad (@chad_ventures) observed on X that every rebound attempt during the ongoing downtrend ā which initiated with a “South Star” signal at $0.185 ā faced rejection at the resistance band. He highlighted that a fresh “Meridian North Star” signal has emerged, and emphasized that the critical question centers on whether price can successfully breach and maintain levels above this resistance band. According to chad’s analysis, this level will be the determining factor for whether a genuine trend reversal is underway.
Technical Chart Analysis
From a technical perspective, DOGE breached a significant trendline that had contained price action since May and successfully cleared a 4-hour resistance trendline. The Relative Strength Index registers at 69 on the daily timeframe, approaching overbought conditions. The MACD histogram continues showing positive momentum.
The 100-day Exponential Moving Average positioned at $0.080 represents the primary resistance hurdle. On the downside, the 50-day EMA at $0.074 combined with SuperTrend support at $0.069 form a demand zone.
The subsequent supply zone above current trading levels has yet to be tested. DOGE’s ability to convert that resistance zone into a support floor will ultimately determine whether this rally has staying power.
