The upward momentum followed impressive second-quarter financial results and increasing investor optimism surrounding Nokia’s strategic positioning in AI-driven network infrastructure.
Shares had settled at $9.13 during the previous trading session. Trading activity registered approximately 65.5 million shares, representing about 20% less than the typical daily average of 81.4 million shares.
The Finnish telecommunications equipment manufacturer delivered second-quarter earnings per share of $0.08, exceeding Wall Street’s consensus projection of $0.07 by one cent. Revenue climbed 8% from the year-ago period to 4.82 billion euros, translating to approximately $5.60 billion. This figure fell marginally short of analyst revenue expectations of $5.57 billion.
The Network Infrastructure segment demonstrated particularly strong performance, posting 12% revenue expansion. Optical Networks delivered exceptional growth of 19%, while IP Networks contributed 15% gains.
AI Business Experiences Explosive Growth
The standout metric capturing market attention is the company’s AI and Cloud segment revenue, which experienced remarkable growth of 103%, effectively doubling compared to the same period last year. This rapidly expanding division now represents 9.3% of total company sales. Nokia also secured 2.8 billion euros worth of new orders in AI and cloud infrastructure throughout the quarter.
Chief Executive Officer Justin Hotard highlighted ongoing robust demand from AI-focused data centers as a primary growth catalyst. Market participants are progressively viewing Nokia through a different lensāshifting from its traditional telecommunications heritage toward recognition as a critical network infrastructure provider supporting AI expansion.
Hotard also tackled supply chain challenges head-on. Anticipating memory component shortages extending into 2027, the company is implementing a multi-pronged strategy including securing long-term supply commitments, modifying product architectures, and implementing price adjustments to offset increased component costs.

Northland Securities maintains the Street’s most optimistic outlook with a $20.00 price target established in June. More recently, Danske Bank elevated its rating to Buy on July 1st.
Among institutional shareholders, numerous funds expanded their holdings in recent reporting periods. Fifth Third Bancorp dramatically increased its position by 248.7% during the fourth quarter. Institutional ownership collectively accounts for 5.28% of outstanding shares.
From a technical analysis perspective, Nokia currently trades 2.9% beneath its 20-day moving average and 22.8% under its 50-day moving average. The stock hovers just 0.5% above the 200-day moving average, a threshold technical analysts frequently monitor as a critical support level.
Primary resistance appears around the $10 price level. Support is identified near $8, coinciding with a previous demand zone.
