Key Highlights
- Bitmine acquired only 7,430 ETH (~$14M) during the past week, marking one of its most modest weekly acquisitions since implementing its Ethereum treasury approach
- The reduced acquisition rate coincided with the firm’s repurchase of 5.5 million shares at a mean price of $15.62 as part of its $4B share buyback initiative
- Current ETH reserves stand at 5.78 million tokens, valued at approximately $10.9B, accounting for 4.8% of Ethereum’s total circulating tokens
- The company’s aggregate assets reached $11.5B as of July 19, encompassing Bitcoin reserves, cash holdings, and two corporate equity positions
- BMNR shares gained 2.4% during Monday’s pre-market session
Bitmine (BMNR) significantly curtailed its Ethereum acquisition activity during the previous week, adding merely 7,430 ETH valued at approximately $14 million ā representing a notable departure from the aggressive accumulation strategy maintained throughout the year. BMNR shares advanced 2.4% in Monday’s pre-market trading session.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Inc., BMNR
This most recent acquisition elevates Bitmine’s aggregate ETH reserves to 5.78 million tokens, carrying an estimated market value of $10.9 billion based on the present price level near $1,879 per token. This position represents roughly 4.8% of Ethereum’s aggregate circulating supply of 120.7 million tokens.
To illustrate the magnitude of this deceleration: during May, Bitmine secured over 111,000 ETH within just seven days. During the initial six months of 2026, the firm consistently accumulated multiple tens of thousands of tokens on a weekly basis.
Chairman Tom Lee attributed the diminished acquisition tempo directly to the company’s share repurchase activities. The organization allocated capital toward buying back 5.5 million common shares at a mean purchase price of $15.62 through its active $4 billion buyback program ā representing an aggregate expenditure of approximately $86 million.
“The reduced pace of buys reflects that Bitmine repurchased 5.5 million common shares,” Lee said in the company update.
Lee emphasized that Bitmine has maintained uninterrupted weekly ETH purchases since initiating its treasury approach slightly over twelve months ago in June 2025.
Ethereum Reserves and Staking Income
The firm’s aggregate assets totaled $11.5 billion as of July 19. Beyond its substantial ETH position, Bitmine maintains 207 Bitcoin, $385 million in cash and liquid securities, a $180 million equity stake in Beast Industries, and a $58 million investment position in Eightco Holdings.
Staking operations constitute a critical component of the business model. Bitmine currently has 4.92 million Ethereum tokens staked ā representing roughly 85% of total reserves ā via its MAVAN staking infrastructure, generating projected annualized revenue approaching $247 million.
Approaching the 5% Ownership Threshold
The firm’s declared objective is securing ownership of 5% of all circulating ETH tokens. Currently positioned at 4.8%, the target is within reach ā however, this buyback-focused week demonstrates Bitmine’s readiness to decelerate token accumulation when alternative capital deployment opportunities emerge.
Whether share repurchase activity persists or Ethereum acquisition resumes at previous intensity levels will probably remain among the most closely monitored metrics for BMNR shareholders in coming weeks.
According to Monday’s corporate disclosure, the company maintains 5.78 million ETH tokens, with 4.92 million currently deployed in staking operations.
