On April 22, Broadcom (AVGO) and Google Cloud (GOOGL) announced an enhanced strategic partnership, with Broadcom’s AppNeta platform serving as the backbone for Google Cloud’s newly launched Cloud Network Insights offering.
Designed as a native Google Cloud solution, Cloud Network Insights leverages AppNeta’s advanced network monitoring capabilities to deliver comprehensive visibility into application performance across fragmented infrastructure landscapes.
The new offering addresses a critical challenge facing modern IT operations. With enterprise workloads increasingly distributed across multiple cloud providers, legacy data centers, and numerous SaaS applications, conventional monitoring solutions often fail to provide visibility beyond customer-controlled network boundaries.
Cloud Network Insights bridges this visibility gap through three primary capabilities. The platform delivers comprehensive network experience monitoring with complete path visibility, enables application and agent performance tracking across both cloud and on-premises systems, and provides diagnostic tools that accelerate the identification of whether performance issues stem from network or application layers.
AppNeta’s Role in the Partnership
AppNeta represents Broadcom’s specialized solution for monitoring end-user experiences in cloud-native and SaaS environments. The platform provides IT operations teams with comprehensive insights into both network performance and application health across complex, distributed architectures.
Broadcom deploys AppNeta across its own infrastructure to monitor traffic patterns spanning both traditional data center resources and cloud-based services. This internal deployment has directly informed the product capabilities now available within Cloud Network Insights.
Rob Enns, who serves as VP and General Manager of Cloud Networking at Google Cloud, highlighted that integrating AppNeta’s observability capabilities equips customers to “proactively optimize agent, application, and network experiences and rapidly pinpoint network bottlenecks.”
Serge Lucio, VP and General Manager of Broadcom’s Agile Operations Division, emphasized that the partnership enables Google Cloud customers to achieve more effective monitoring of distributed applications and network infrastructure.
Addressing the Multi-Cloud Monitoring Challenge
Today’s enterprise technology environments are increasingly fragmented. Organizations now operate workloads across public cloud platforms, private infrastructure, and an expanding array of SaaS solutions. Achieving unified monitoring across these disparate environments has remained a persistent pain point for IT teams.
Cloud Network Insights seeks to address this complexity by consolidating network performance data for distributed cloud applications into a single view. The solution provides visibility across all infrastructure layers, extending beyond Google Cloud’s directly managed services.
Alan Davidson, serving as Broadcom’s CIO, emphasized that the company depends on AppNeta to enable internal IT operations to quickly differentiate between network-related and application-related performance degradation — a capability that becomes increasingly critical as infrastructure complexity grows.
Broadcom’s AVGO stock gained 0.91% on the announcement date. Google’s GOOGL shares advanced 1.38%.
Cloud Network Insights powered by AppNeta by Broadcom is now accessible to customers through the Google Cloud platform.
