TLDR
- Ciena’s Biznet deal expands 400G reach, but CIEN stock slips after hours.
- Biznet taps Ciena WL5e to boost Indonesia’s high-speed network capacity.
- Ciena expands Indonesia network reach as CIEN stock closes in the red.
- Biznet upgrades BNCS-1 with Ciena tech, lifting regional cable capacity.
- CIEN stock weakens, but Ciena’s Biznet deal adds Southeast Asia momentum.
Ciena Corporation (CIEN) stock ended weaker, yet Biznet’s network upgrade gave the company a fresh infrastructure headline in Southeast Asia. CIEN closed at $583.74, down 0.59%, then fell after hours to $580.01, down 0.64%. Meanwhile, Biznet expanded its submarine cable capacity with Ciena technology across major Indonesian islands.
Ciena Technology Strengthens Biznet’s BNCS-1 Network
Biznet deployed Ciena’s WaveLogic 5 Extreme on the international link of BNCS-1. The submarine cable system connects Java, Sumatra, and Bangka Islands. The upgrade supports faster inter-island connectivity and stronger access to global networks.
The deployment targets 400G high-speed services for Indonesian users and enterprise customers. It also gives Biznet more capacity across local and international routes. Besides that, the project supports Indonesia’s wider digital growth and rising bandwidth demand.
Biznet runs integrated digital infrastructure services across several Indonesian regions. The company has worked with Ciena on earlier network expansion projects. This upgrade builds on an existing partnership across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Batam, and other islands.
Biznet Deal Adds Capacity as CIEN Stock Slips
Ciena Services and Terrabit Networks support the design and deployment work. They help integrate Ciena’s 6500 platform with Biznet Fiber networks. The setup improves network planning, automation, and service provisioning through Ciena’s Navigator Network Control Suite.
Indonesia remains a major connectivity hub in Southeast Asia. Demand for high-capacity and low-latency internet continues to grow as data usage rises. Biznet’s BNCS-1 upgrade aims to deliver faster access and more stable connections.
The project also improves capacity on the Batam-Singapore link. That route plays a key role in international gateway access. Stronger capacity can improve access to global digital services for customers across Biznet’s network.
Ciena Expands Role in Indonesia’s Digital Infrastructure
Ciena’s WaveLogic 5 Extreme helps operators raise capacity without replacing entire network systems. The technology supports higher data throughput and better spectral efficiency. As a result, Biznet can expand service quality while using existing fiber assets more effectively.
The deal gives Ciena another role in Indonesia’s growing broadband and submarine cable market. It also links the company to long-term demand for cloud services, streaming, enterprise data, and cross-border traffic. CIEN stock still ended the session under pressure.
Ciena Corporation stock reflected late weakness despite the infrastructure update. The Biznet deal adds a positive business development, but the market session closed lower. Overall, the upgrade expands Ciena’s network reach across Indonesia and strengthens its regional connectivity presence.
