She succeeds Pamela Feingold, who served in the role until her passing on March 16, 2026. Chen now leads a business line tied to affordable housing, nonprofits, and economic revitalization projects.
Chen brings more than 30 years of banking experience to the position. She joined Eastern in 2007 and has held several leadership roles across commercial lending. he worked with Feingold for 15 years inside the community development lending group.
During that period, the portfolio grew from under $600 million to more than $2 billion. Chen served as Senior Vice President and Team Leader within the group during that expansion. Eastern Bankshares gains continuity in a lending area with long-standing community ties.
Eastern Bank Strengthens Nonprofit Lending Focus
Eastern Bank provides financing for affordable housing, nonprofit operations and community development projects. Its lending products include construction loans, real estate financing, working capital lines, and tax credit project loans.
