The Esportes da Sorte Group has finalized its purchase of Apostou.com, a business that holds licensing through Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting for its BETBR Loterias platform.
With significant operations concentrated in Paraná state, Apostou.com maintains both digital platforms and brick-and-mortar betting establishments throughout the area.
The transaction encompasses two additional properties under Apostou.com’s ownership: B1BET and BRBET.
This strategic move bolsters Esportes da Sorte’s market penetration across Brazil, a nation that has emerged as the globe’s fifth-biggest wagering market.
Explosive Growth in Brazil’s Regulated Betting Sector
Throughout the initial five months of 2026, Brazil’s legitimized betting sector produced revenues approaching BRL6 billion, equivalent to approximately $1.2 billion.
This income stream originates from a 12% levy imposed on operators’ gross gaming receipts. Additional corporate taxation obligations include IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, and Cofins.
The substantial tax burden has motivated major operators to pursue acquisitions of smaller competitors. Throughout the industry, mergers and consolidation activities have become increasingly prevalent.
Beyond this latest acquisition, Esportes da Sorte Group controls Lottu and Onabet. The organization has systematically expanded its brand collection throughout the previous two years.
During 2024, the group purchased ST Soft, a business that controlled a distinct brand also called Apostou, which had secured Loterj licensing in 2023.
Market Standing and Competitive Rankings
Esportes Gaming Brasil, serving as the parent entity, has maintained a nationwide betting authorization since 2025, issued by Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting.
Currently, two of the group’s three operating brands have achieved top-ten status among Brazilian operators. According to Blask analytics covering the first quarter of 2026, Esportes da Sorte secured the sixth position.
Meanwhile, Onabet claimed tenth place in the same ranking. Betano dominates the market at number one, with Bet365 following in second position.
Prior to obtaining its nationwide authorization, the organization operated under ST Soft’s Loterj license. With Loterj’s infrastructure located in Rio de Janeiro, brands holding this license could legally operate throughout Brazil.
CADE, Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense, is presently examining the acquisition. The transaction appears under Public Notice No. 464, with HS Gaming Participações, an Esportes Gaming Brasil subsidiary, managing the process.
Comparable consolidation strategies have emerged among competing operators in Brazil. Flutter Entertainment recently secured majority ownership of Betnacional, currently ranked seventh according to Blask data. Flutter simultaneously operates the Betfair platform within Brazilian borders.
ANA Gaming, the organization behind 7K, Cassino, and Vera platforms, has maintained an aggressive expansion strategy. The company just finalized its purchase of Aposta Tudo.
Prior to this transaction, ANA Gaming had already absorbed Donald Bet and Ponto Bet. These developments underscore the rapid consolidation momentum sweeping through Brazil’s betting landscape.
