The New York Stock Exchange has expanded its roster of transfer agent collaborators for a planned digital securities marketplace. Broadridge Financial Solutions, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate have been added to the initiative.
These organizations join previously announced partners Securitize and tZERO. With the latest additions, the exchange’s transfer agent network now comprises six entities.
The partnership announcements came on November 2. A specific trading commencement date has not been disclosed, and the marketplace awaits regulatory authorization.
Transfer Agent Network Reaches Six Companies
The coalition blends established transfer agent services with blockchain-focused enterprises. Broadridge, Computershare and Equiniti collectively provide services to approximately 5,000 publicly traded corporations, representing nearly 99% of S&P 500 constituents.
Securitize, tZERO and Superstate contribute expertise in digital asset infrastructure and blockchain-based recordkeeping. Transfer agents maintain ownership records for securities and administer shareholder functions including dividend distributions and corporate events.
Their participation will bridge existing share registration systems with the proposed tokenized trading infrastructure. NYSE Group President Lynn Martin emphasized that the exchange’s focus continues to be “protecting and upholding market integrity through every technological advancement.”
Broadridge CEO Tim Gokey noted the firm handles over $360 billion in daily asset processing. He stated the company’s infrastructure streamlines operations for issuers regardless of tokenization location or custody arrangement.
Computershare highlighted its position as the initial transfer agent to provide issuer-sponsored token services. Equiniti CEO Dan Kramer suggested tokenization represents an opportunity to transform securities issuance, custody and transfer processes.
Securitize Chairman and CEO Carlos Domingo identified his organization as NYSE’s inaugural digital transfer agent selection. Superstate CEO Robert Leshner observed, “Tokenization is a partnership between issuers, transfer agents, and exchanges.”
Platform Architecture and Functionality
The exchange initially described the marketplace concept in January 2026. The architecture would integrate NYSE’s Pillar order matching technology with blockchain infrastructure for settlement and asset custody.
The system would enable continuous trading throughout all hours and days, featuring immediate settlement. Participants would submit orders denominated in dollar values, with stablecoins providing an alternative funding mechanism.
Multiple blockchain protocols are intended for compatibility. The exchange has not yet specified which networks or stablecoin varieties will receive initial support.
Two token categories will be supported: issuer-sponsored tokenized securities and third-party custodial tokens. Both classifications would maintain full fungibility with conventional shares, ensuring holders receive equivalent dividend payments and governance rights.
Operations will function independently from standard NYSE equity trading. Market access will be facilitated through participating broker-dealer firms.
The January disclosure identified U.S.-listed equities and exchange-traded funds as target products. Specific issuers, securities or funds have not been publicly identified by NYSE.
Securitize currently operates a separate tokenized U.S. equity offering on Solana. In October, the company disclosed 12 tokenized stocks, featuring shares associated with Apple, Nvidia and Tesla, though these have not been confirmed as inaugural NYSE platform listings.
Intercontinental Exchange, NYSE’s parent organization, committed to invest in tZERO during a financing round, with the investment amount undisclosed. The exchange separately announced a September agreement with Blockchain.com for tokenized share distribution following regulatory approvals.
The November 2 announcement provided no timeline for issuer onboarding or initial trading sessions. No particular launch quarter has been communicated.
