A strategic partnership is taking shape between Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions focused on crypto prediction markets. The proposed agreement would position Gemini Titan as the exclusive regulated marketplace for crypto event contracts available to Apex’s brokerage clients through its Futures Commission Merchant infrastructure.
Apex operates as a critical infrastructure provider, delivering trading and clearing services to hundreds of financial institutions. These partner firms collectively serve tens of millions of retail investors, potentially opening a massive new distribution pipeline for Gemini’s prediction market offerings.
The proposed framework would require any brokerage distributing crypto event contracts via Apex’s FCM to route execution and clearing through Gemini. Additionally, both parties may investigate opportunities in other event contract segments including sports outcomes, economic indicators, and traditional financial markets, though on a non-exclusive basis.
The agreement remains preliminary at this stage. Representatives from both organizations indicated they anticipate finalizing terms within the next few weeks.
Gemini’s Journey Into Prediction Markets
Gemini made its entrance into prediction markets during December 2025 after Gemini Titan secured a Designated Contract Market license from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Four months later in April 2026, the company achieved another regulatory milestone when its subsidiary Gemini Olympus obtained a Derivatives Clearing Organization license from the CFTC. This second approval enabled Gemini to manage derivatives clearing and settlement operations internally.
Trading activity on Gemini Titan has reached over 225 million event contracts since inception, with more than 27,000 unique traders participating. However, the prediction market landscape remains heavily concentrated, with Polymarket and Kalshi commanding the majority of market share and processing tens of billions in trading volume monthly.
Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who co-founded Gemini, have positioned prediction markets as a fundamental component of their business vision. The twin entrepreneurs have stated: “Our thesis is that prediction markets will be as big or bigger than today’s capital markets.”
Expanding an Established Partnership
The collaboration between Gemini and Apex isn’t breaking new groundāthe firms have previously joined forces. Apex Clearing currently functions as both custodian and clearing broker for Gemini’s zero-fee equity trading service, which became available to select US users in July 2025.
This latest proposed arrangement would broaden their existing partnership into the derivatives and prediction markets sector.
The prediction markets industry is encountering regulatory headwinds at the state level across the United States. Recently, a Washington state judge issued a ruling requiring Kalshi to cease offering certain event contracts within the state, determining that federal commodities regulations do not supersede state gambling statutes.
Notwithstanding these regulatory challenges, Gemini demonstrates continued commitment to growing its presence in the prediction markets sector through strategic alliances such as this arrangement with Apex.
