Faster AI At Lower Cost
The centerpiece of the launch is Gemini 3.6 Flash, which Google positions as its primary production model for developers seeking a balance between performance and affordability. The company says the model delivers stronger coding abilities, improved knowledge processing, and enhanced multimodal capabilities while consuming significantly fewer tokens than the previous generation.
According to Google, Gemini 3.6 Flash can reduce token usage by as much as 17% compared to Gemini 3.5 Flash. Lower token consumption translates into reduced inference costs, making the model more attractive for organizations deploying AI assistants, coding tools, and enterprise automation at scale.
The company emphasized that the latest Flash model was designed with efficiency and responsiveness in mind, allowing developers to build AI agents capable of handling complex workloads without dramatically increasing operating expenses.
Specialized Models Expand Portfolio
Alongside Gemini 3.6 Flash, Google introduced Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, its most affordable model in the Flash lineup. The lightweight version is intended for applications where speed and cost matter more than maximum reasoning performance, giving developers another option for high-volume AI deployments.
Google also unveiled Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, a specialized model trained specifically to identify and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Rather than serving general-purpose AI tasks, the Cyber model focuses on security analysis and vulnerability detection.
Initially, access to Flash Cyber will remain limited. Google said the model is being released through a pilot program available only to government agencies and selected trusted partners, reflecting the sensitive nature of cybersecurity applications.

Gemini 3.5 Pro Still Delayed

Google DeepMind product lead Logan Kilpatrick confirmed that Gemini 3.5 Pro is currently undergoing testing with selected partners. Although he did not provide a launch date, he said the company hopes to make the model available soon.
