The plaintiffs seek a court order to pause the layoffs while their legal claims proceed through arbitration.
The lawsuit states that Meta considered productivity measurements and AI token usage during employee evaluations. Additionally, the lawsuit claims those systems reviewed communication records, screen activity, browser history, emails, and keystroke data before ranking employees.
Meta announced plans earlier this year to reduce about 10% of its workforce, affecting nearly 8,000 employees. The restructuring also included role changes for thousands of workers and the elimination of several open positions.
