The Raydium (RAY) token has climbed nearly 9% in Thursday’s trading session, building on a 41% surge that began over the weekend. The seven-day performance shows an impressive 96.5% increase, pushing RAY to price levels last observed in January.

This remarkable price action stems from multiple catalysts, including innovative product rollouts, heightened on-chain engagement, and an aggressive token buyback initiative that has reduced available supply.
The platform recently unveiled more than 15 tokenized versions of US equities on the Solana network, featuring companies such as Boeing, Costco, Reddit, Lululemon, and Roblox. These digital assets are available for trading around the clock via Backpack Securities and Sunrise Protocol. This development positions Raydium strategically within the expanding real-world asset sector of cryptocurrency markets.
CoinGecko identified the primary catalysts behind this momentum. The analytics firm noted that StonkFun redirected all new token launches to Raydium LaunchLab, tokenized equities such as Backpack’s Grindr offering now flow through Raydium’s infrastructure, and the platform completed its most substantial buyback operation on September 9.
Additionally, Pump.fun rolled out “Custom Pairs” functionality, enabling memecoin projects to establish trading pairs with tokenized stocks and alternative assets. This development places Raydium at the convergence of two thriving sectors on Solana: the memecoin phenomenon and tokenized traditional assets.
Historic Token Buyback and Network Expansion
This Wednesday witnessed Raydium executing a buyback operation valued at $640,788 in RAY tokens, marking the platform’s largest single-day repurchase to date. The aggregate value of all buybacks has now reached $2.1 million. Such buyback programs diminish the available token supply in circulation, potentially providing price support when market demand holds steady.

Network analytics confirm this heightened activity. Santiment’s data revealed 1,074 newly created addresses conducting their first RAY transfers on Wednesday. According to DeFiLlama metrics, the quantity of SOL locked in Raydium staking contracts climbed to an unprecedented 470,817 tokens, while the platform registered 162,085 active wallets and processed 3.1 million transactions—both representing monthly peaks.
In earlier developments this week, Raydium broadened its decentralized finance capabilities by introducing trading pairs for Bittensor (TAO) and Dogecoin (DOGE).
