Robinhood is introducing cryptocurrency trading capabilities to United Kingdom investors this week, providing access to more than 50 digital currencies through Bitstamp, the cryptocurrency exchange the company purchased in 2025.
This expansion forms part of Robinhood’s comprehensive investment application, which integrates cryptocurrency offerings with stocks and shares ISAs, equity markets, options contracts and futures trading. The move establishes Robinhood as a competitive alternative to existing UK investment service providers.
Shares of HOOD advanced 0.77% to trade above $94 during Monday’s premarket session. The stock finished Friday’s regular trading at $93.29, representing a 2.84% daily increase.
The stock has appreciated approximately 8% following Robinhood’s second-quarter earnings announcement, which exceeded analyst projections. Cryptocurrency transaction revenues reached $100 million during the reporting period.
For UK customers, Robinhood implements a zero-commission structure with no trading fees, account maintenance charges, or custody expenses. A 0.1% foreign exchange conversion fee applies, potentially increasing to 0.3% for specific weekend currency exchanges.
An important consideration: cryptocurrency assets held through Bitstamp UK fall outside the protection of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and the Financial Ombudsman Service.
The UK expansion operates under Robinhood’s cryptocurrency registration with the Financial Conduct Authority, enabling lawful operations while satisfying UK anti-money laundering standards.
Artificial Intelligence-Enhanced Market Insights
Complementing the trading platform debut, Robinhood unveiled “Cortex Digests for Crypto,” an artificial intelligence-powered feature integrated directly into the application. This tool aggregates real-time news feeds, market statistics, technical analysis indicators and proprietary Robinhood research.
The functionality provides straightforward, accessible summaries explaining the factors influencing daily price movements for specific cryptocurrency assets. It aims to equip individual investors with rapid market context without requiring research across numerous platforms.
“Our new product provides a transparent, low-cost alternative to many incumbent UK platforms, which often rely on opaque pricing structures and apply wide spreads that can erode customers’ returns,” Robinhood said.
Broadening Cryptocurrency Infrastructure
The rollout additionally makes Robinhood Chain available to UK software developers. This layer 2 blockchain solution, constructed on the Arbitrum network, extends the platform’s cryptocurrency technology framework into British markets.
Initial supported digital assets encompass Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Hyperliquid. The complete roster includes more than 50 cryptocurrency options.
Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood UK, commented that the organization is “taking another major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.”
Bernstein analysts reaffirmed their $160 valuation target for HOOD shares. The research firm highlighted Robinhood Chain, tokenized asset offerings, Bitstamp integration and Robinhood Earn as primary catalysts for future expansion.
The United Kingdom cryptocurrency service becomes available this week for qualified account holders.
