The transaction marks Strive’s most significant single purchase in four months. The company accumulated the digital assets between September 28 and October 2, paying an average of $84,422 per coin.
With this latest acquisition, Strive’s bitcoin inventory now stands at 29,462 BTC. At today’s market values, the holdings represent approximately $2.55 billion in cryptocurrency assets.
According to CEO Matt Cole, the company financed the majority of this purchase through sales of SATA preferred shares. These preferred stock sales generated 61.5% of the total capital required.
An additional $56.7 million came from warrant exercises. The remaining funds were secured through other financing mechanisms, demonstrating Strive’s diversified approach to treasury expansion.
Corporate Bitcoin Treasury Rankings Shift
Strive currently trails MARA by 6,115 BTC, with the latter maintaining 35,577 BTC in reserves. This differential keeps Strive just outside the fourth-place position among publicly traded bitcoin treasury companies.
Meanwhile, significant movement occurred in the battle for second place. Japan-based Metaplanet executed a strategic maneuver during Q3, selling 10,000 BTC before repurchasing 11,000 BTC—an operation the firm described as a liquidity demonstration.
The net addition of 1,000 BTC elevated Metaplanet’s holdings to 44,000 BTC, surpassing Twenty One’s 43,514 BTC. Strive now sits 14,538 BTC behind Metaplanet’s updated position.
For Strive to close this gap before year-end, the company would need to accumulate approximately 1,212 BTC weekly over the next 12 weeks. This calculation assumes Metaplanet remains inactive, though the company’s recent trading activity suggests otherwise.
Strategy continues to dominate the sector with substantial separation. Michael Saylor’s enterprise added 334 BTC worth $28.7 million last week, expanding its treasury to 848,000 BTC.
Third Quarter Performance Metrics
Strive disclosed preliminary Q3 results in its recent SEC submission. Throughout the quarter, the company accumulated 8,137 BTC at an average cost of $78,885 per coin.
As of September 30, Strive maintained approximately $285 million in liquid assets and cash equivalents. The company’s year-to-date BTC yield metric registered 63.2%.
The amplification ratio—which measures preferred equity and debt against bitcoin valuation—registered at 55.3%. Cole indicated his intention to increase this metric beyond 60% while bitcoin prices remain below the $100,000 threshold.
Year-to-date, Strive’s bitcoin reserves have expanded by more than 290%. The company recently surpassed crypto exchange Bullish to claim the world’s fifth-largest corporate bitcoin treasury position.
ASST shares surged nearly 140% throughout the third quarter overall. Excluding Monday’s advance, the stock registered a 1.7% gain for the previous week.
The company’s SATA preferred shares traded close to their $100 par value on Monday. These preferred securities distribute a daily dividend at an annualized rate of $13 per share, representing an effective yield of approximately 13%.
Bitcoin traded around $86,000 on Monday, following a 24-hour peak of $86,948. Transaction volume for the cryptocurrency increased 78% compared to the previous 24-hour period.
Cole addressed the accumulation strategy, confirming the company’s commitment to continued treasury expansion. Industry peers, including Strategy’s Michael Saylor, publicly recognized Strive’s most recent acquisition.
