Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s chief executive, delivered upbeat announcements to the XRP community as the company launched the 10th edition of its flagship Ripple Swell conference. According to Garlinghouse, this milestone event signals the beginning of a transformative phase for XRP, the XRP Ledger infrastructure, and Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin.
In a post on X, Garlinghouse declared that Ripple was “kicking off 10 years of Ripple Swell with a bang!” The company confirmed this year’s gathering represents the biggest Ripple Swell conference in its history.
Scott Bessent Addresses Crypto Regulation at Conference Opening
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent delivered the opening remarks at the conference. Garlinghouse praised Bessent’s guidance and credited the current administration with creating an environment where responsible cryptocurrency innovation can flourish domestically.
Bessent informed conference participants that the Treasury Department may coordinate with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission to advance digital asset policy frameworks. He emphasized this collaborative approach remains viable despite Congress’s failure to pass the CLARITY Act.
“We are going to win in the digital asset stack,” Bessent declared during his address.
The conference comes on the heels of a significant regulatory milestone for Ripple. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency recently issued final authorization for Ripple National Trust Bank.
This federal banking charter enables Ripple to maintain reserves backing RLUSD. Additionally, it authorizes the firm to provide digital asset custody solutions to institutional clients.
“We’ve always said crypto and banks work better together,” Garlinghouse stated. “This is what that looks like. Real innovation, real accountability, federal oversight.”
Institutional Partnerships With Robinhood and BNY Announced
Garlinghouse highlighted newly forged agreements with prominent financial institutions. Ripple will deploy its technology infrastructure across Robinhood’s platform for both retail customer offerings and backend financial operations.
The arrangement encompasses RLUSD settlement capabilities on the XRP Ledger, prime brokerage services, and treasury management functions. RLUSD has already been deployed on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood.
Robinhood intends to leverage RLUSD on the XRP Ledger specifically for institutional-grade settlement operations.
Ripple is simultaneously deepening its existing relationship with BNY. The enhanced collaboration will focus on custody solutions and tokenized trade finance applications utilizing RLUSD, XRP, and the XRP Ledger. BNY has committed to expanding its infrastructure for tokenized assets and investment vehicles launched on the XRP Ledger.
In related developments, Moody’s Ratings assigned RLUSD an A2 long-term credit rating. The rating agency also granted a P-1 short-term rating, which represents the top tier under its newly established stablecoin assessment methodology.
The conference agenda addresses agentic finance, asset tokenization, international payment rails, decentralized finance, and XRP Ledger applications. Actor Matt Damon is scheduled to discuss how a clean water nonprofit leverages Ripple Payments and RLUSD to accelerate international fund transfers.
XRP climbed toward $1.35 as the conference commenced. The digital asset currently trades at $1.33 following several days of range-bound price action.
Trading activity increased nearly 20% over the past 24 hours. Market observers interpret this as opportunistic accumulation during the recent consolidation.
Cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez noted XRP is recovering, though $1.25 represents the critical support threshold. He pointed to the daily chart displaying a potential inverse head-and-shoulders formation.
Should $1.25 support remain intact, Martinez projects XRP could advance toward $1.55. A confirmed daily close above that resistance zone could establish a trajectory toward $2.10.
