If approved, the exchange-traded fund would be available on Nasdaq trading under the GWLD ticker.

Monday’s submission expands Grayscale’s portfolio to include 18 cryptocurrency-focused investment products. The firm currently offers exposure to major digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, and Chainlink through various fund structures.
According to the filing, BitGo Bank & Trust will handle custody responsibilities for the fund’s WLD token reserves. BNY Mellon has been designated to function as both administrator and transfer agent, with CSC Delaware Trust Company taking on the trustee role.
Critical information regarding expense ratios, initial capital commitments, authorized participants, and market makers remains absent from the current filing. Grayscale has indicated its intention to facilitate in-kind creation and redemption mechanisms for the product.
Understanding Worldcoin
Worldcoin’s WLD token operates as an ERC-20 asset on the Ethereum network. The token powers the World ecosystem, an innovative platform utilizing biometric authentication technology to differentiate genuine human users from automated bots.
Sam Altman, renowned as the chief executive of OpenAI, co-founded the World project. This association with artificial intelligence leadership has generated considerable market interest in WLD throughout recent periods.
The ETF launch timeline depends on WLD meeting qualification criteria outlined in Nasdaq’s generic listing framework. This pathway enables cryptocurrency-based ETFs to reach markets more expeditiously compared to traditional approval channels.
Market Response to WLD
The WLD price experienced an upward movement exceeding 4% following the filing announcement. Based on TradingView market information, the token was valued at roughly $0.376 during reporting hours.
While showing strength today, WLD has declined more than 10% throughout the previous week. The asset has faced downward pressure since news surfaced suggesting OpenAI might postpone its public offering plans beyond this year.
WLD’s price increase coincided with positive momentum across cryptocurrency markets generally. Bitcoin crossed the $65,000 threshold for the first occasion in multiple weeks during the identical trading session.
This Worldcoin ETF application arrives just days after T. Rowe Price introduced the inaugural actively managed cryptocurrency ETF, providing diversified exposure including Bitcoin and Ethereum positions.
With existing Hyperliquid ETF offerings already in its catalog, Grayscale continues building out its comprehensive suite of digital asset investment vehicles through the proposed GWLD product.
At the moment of the S-1 submission, WLD was changing hands near $0.376, reflecting a daily increase exceeding 4%.
