Shares of BTC Digital (BTCT) experienced a dramatic 54% surge during Monday’s premarket session following the company’s announcement that its Georgia-based cryptocurrency mining facility has reached construction completion.
The significant stock movement coincided with Bitcoin (BTC) gaining approximately 1%, with the cryptocurrency hovering around $78,500 in Monday morning trading.
According to BTC Digital, the Georgia facility is now in the final stages before “deployment readiness.” The company projects that mining equipment installation and the commencement of digital asset mining activities will occur within roughly two months, contingent upon electrical interconnection developments.
The Georgia site features 10 megawatts of operational capacity and possesses the infrastructure to accommodate as much as 900,000 terahashes per second of theoretical hash power when fully deployed.
This computational capacity estimate is based on BTC Digital’s intended deployment of high-performance mining equipment. However, the final equipment count and actual computing power achieved will vary based on multiple variables.
These variables encompass power activation timelines, specific mining equipment models selected, operational energy efficiency, blockchain network difficulty adjustments, cryptocurrency market valuations, and overall economic conditions.
According to BTC Digital, equipment deployment will occur “progressively based on market conditions” rather than through a single large-scale installation.
Balanced Growth Approach
BTC Digital is simultaneously advancing what executives describe as a “dual-engine” expansion model. This strategy involves scaling its cryptocurrency mining business while simultaneously developing artificial intelligence computing infrastructure services throughout North America.
Company leadership emphasized that both operational segments benefit from overlapping expertise in power acquisition, data center construction, and hardware deployment.
“We will continue to sustain the development of our cryptocurrency computing business so as to fully leverage the company’s existing advantages in power resources, infrastructure construction, and computing operations,” BTC Digital’s management said.
The Georgia installation represents one component of BTC Digital’s broader strategy to strengthen its computing infrastructure presence throughout the United States.
Strengthening Domestic Presence
When the facility becomes operational, it will expand BTC Digital’s portfolio of directly managed infrastructure assets within the United States.
The company’s operations span cryptocurrency mining activities, mining facility development, data center management, and associated services.
Additionally, BTC Digital is establishing AI computing infrastructure and related services throughout North America, positioning this vertical as a complementary growth channel alongside its primary mining operations.
Company executives characterized the Georgia facility completion as an important milestone in establishing what they termed a “more diversified and resilient business foundation for long-term growth.”
BTCT stock was trading up 54% premarket on Monday, August 24, 2026.
