NEAR Protocol has announced a collaboration with Ondo Finance to introduce tokenized U.S. equities, exchange-traded funds, and commodity-backed instruments to near.com and the NEAR Intents infrastructure. This debut rollout provides qualified participants with exposure to 20 tokenized financial instruments, featuring several prominent publicly-traded American corporations.
Among the inaugural securities available via this collaboration are shares of Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. Participants can additionally obtain exposure to instruments tracking the Invesco QQQ Trust and precious-metals-focused ETFs such as SLV and IAU.
Tokenized Securities Now Accessible on NEAR Ecosystem
This collaboration enables qualified participants to transition from supported digital currencies into tokenized financial instruments without requiring preliminary transfers to conventional brokerage platforms. The service accommodates funding through Bitcoin and USDC, among other approved cryptocurrencies.
Following the acquisition of a tokenized instrument, participants may retain it within their digital wallet or convert it back to USDC or alternative supported cryptocurrencies. Access remains subject to geographical location and adherence to Ondo’s qualification requirements.
NEAR Intents manages the multi-chain transaction processing that powers this service. Instead of manually selecting bridges and transaction pathways, participants define their desired outcome while independent solvers compete to identify and implement the necessary routing.
The infrastructure presently supports interoperability among more than 30 blockchain platforms, encompassing Bitcoin, Ethereum, NEAR, Tron, and BNB Chain. This connectivity enables assets residing on any compatible network to be directed toward tokenized securities without requiring participants to manually execute each intermediate step.
Ondo Finance Widens Tokenized Securities Reach
Ondo Finance has previously launched tokenized securities on Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain. The firm reports that its tokenized securities infrastructure holds over $1 billion in aggregate value and has facilitated more than $26 billion in aggregate transaction volume.
The NEAR collaboration establishes an additional distribution pathway while maintaining those established network deployments. Ondo Stocks will become accessible through digital wallets, decentralized finance applications, and other platforms integrated with NEAR Intents.
Previous integrations have introduced Ondo-associated instruments to HyperEVM and enabled tokenized equity transfers between Ethereum and BNB Chain. The NEAR implementation distinguishes itself by utilizing its intent-driven routing infrastructure instead of requiring participants to manually bridge individual tokens.
Ondo Finance has simultaneously been establishing links with conventional financial systems. Its U.S.-regulated broker-dealer division, Oasis Pro Markets, recently became a participant in DTCC’s Fund/SERV platform, which facilitates connections between financial institutions and fund providers for transaction processing and settlement operations.
U.S. Residents Face Access Limitations
Notwithstanding the U.S.-listed corporations underlying these tokens, Ondo Stocks remain inaccessible to U.S. persons. Ondo Finance indicates the instruments have not undergone registration pursuant to the Securities Act of 1933 and cannot be distributed within the United States absent registration or applicable exemption.
Geographic limitations extend to additional jurisdictions. Individuals in territories including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Singapore may require professional investor certification before obtaining access.
The international Ondo Stocks program operates independently from the SEC’s recent framework for tokenized U.S. securities. Instruments utilizing that exemption must deliver identical economic and ownership entitlements as the conventional shares they replicate.
For NEAR Protocol, this partnership positions tokenized equities alongside cryptocurrency assets within an integrated cross-chain framework. For Ondo Finance, it broadens market reach into another blockchain ecosystem as tokenized securities assume growing significance within on-chain financial infrastructure.
