Newegg launched a conversational shopping service that guides customers from product searches to checkout through one continuous discussion. The retailer also introduced its catalog through a ChatGPT app with live prices, inventory, and available deals. Newegg Commerce stock slipped 0.36% to $16.49 after an earlier rally lost momentum.
Newegg Launches Conversational Shopping Service
The new service allows customers to explain their technology needs through simple and direct questions. Shoppers can change budgets, replace components, or adjust specifications without beginning another product search. The system keeps earlier details and updates its recommendations as each conversation develops.
Customers can also add products to a cart while continuing their discussion with the assistant. A side panel displays selected items and allows shoppers to review purchases before checkout. Users can complete the buying process without leaving the conversational shopping page.
The service connects directly with Newegg’s active catalog and current product information. It uses updated prices, available inventory, Shell Shocker offers, OpenBox products, and combined product deals. Newegg also plans connections with its PC Builder and PC Upgrade services.
ChatGPT App Extends Newegg Product Access
Newegg also released an app inside the ChatGPT Apps directory for technology shopping queries. The app brings Newegg’s product catalog into conversations and provides current pricing and stock information. It also displays available deals while helping users compare suitable products.
The integration gives customers another route to search Newegg’s computer hardware and consumer technology range. Users can discuss product needs before viewing options that match their stated requirements. As a result, the app reduces the need for separate searches across multiple product pages.
Newegg said it continues developing integrations for other conversational platforms and online services. The company did not provide specific launch dates for those planned connections. However, its latest release expands its shopping tools beyond the main Newegg website.
On-Page Assistant Supports Product Decisions
Newegg also placed an on-page assistant across its desktop and mobile storefront. The tool answers product questions and checks compatibility while customers browse different listings. It can also provide deal information without interrupting the main shopping process.
All visitors can access the conversational shopping page and on-page assistant without opening an account. Signed-in customers receive personalized product suggestions and can retain previous conversation records. These features connect shopping history with later searches and product comparisons.
Newegg started operations in 2001 and maintains its headquarters in Diamond Bar, California. The company sells computer parts, electronics, gaming equipment, appliances, and other technology products worldwide. It also provides marketing, supply chain, and technical services for business customers.
