Optimi Health Completes Third Psilocybin Export to Australia
Optimi Health Corp. shipped 1,000 capsules of 5mg psilocybin to Australia this week. The shipment marks the third commercial export since the September 2025 launch of its 5mg psilocybin capsules. OPTH produces its drug products entirely in-house at its GMP-certified facility in Princeton, British Columbia.
The capsules target patients with treatment-resistant depression, known as TRD. TRD affects patients whose depression does not respond to standard antidepressant treatments. Australia currently allows regulated access to psilocybin for TRD under its Authorized Prescriber Scheme.
CEO Dane Stevens highlighted the company’s growing global reach. “Our medicine is produced start to finish in Canada and shipped to pharmacy partners globally,” Stevens said. Reimbursement coverage from both private and public insurers continues to expand across Australia.
Australia Leads Global Access to Regulated Psilocybin Therapy
Australia became the first country to recognize psilocybin as a medicine in July 2023. The Therapeutic Goods Administration rescheduled psilocybin from a prohibited substance to a controlled medicine for TRD. OPTH directly benefits from this pioneering regulatory framework as a licensed manufacturer and supplier.
More than 750 clinicians have received training to deliver psilocybin-assisted therapy across Australia. Public and private payers, including the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Medibank, now reimburse the treatment. OPTH reports no serious adverse events since the scheme began over two years ago.
The Authorized Prescriber framework further expanded in May 2026, broadening therapist eligibility and treatment settings. This expansion increases patient reach and drives recurring orders for OPTH products. Australia continues to serve as an early global model for regulated psychedelic medicine in real-world clinical practice.
OPTH Stock Performance Reflects Commercial Confidence
OPTH opened Monday with strong upward momentum after the psilocybin shipment announcement. The stock recovered sharply from a pre-market low near $4.00, pushing well above its previous close of $4.09. Price action consolidated near session highs, reflecting sustained buying pressure throughout the trading day.
Optimi Health Corp. also manufactures MDMA, which Australia rescheduled alongside psilocybin in 2023. Health Canada issues export authorizations for each OPTH shipment under its Drug Establishment Licence framework. OPTH remains among a small number of GMP-licensed manufacturers supplying naturally derived psilocybin to the Australian market.
Recurring export orders support consistent commercial revenue growth for OPTH. The company actively supplies both patient access programs and clinical research globally. OPTH continues to build commercial momentum as regulated psychedelic medicine gains wider acceptance worldwide.
