This milestone represents an impressive climb of nearly 55% over the previous six months, significantly outpacing the stock’s 33% one-year appreciation.
The upward momentum coincides with significant institutional activity. Bank of America established a completely new position in Qorvo worth $182.13 million throughout the second quarter, accumulating 1,952,729 shares. This purchase grants the banking giant approximately 2.21% ownership in the semiconductor manufacturer.
Bank of America’s move wasn’t an isolated event. Multiple institutional investors have recently expanded or established their Qorvo positions. Amundi dramatically increased its stake by 197.2% during Q1, while LSV Asset Management boosted its holdings by 2.3% in Q4. Currently, institutional ownership represents 88.57% of the company’s total shares.
Strong Quarterly Results Fuel Upward Trajectory
Qorvo’s latest quarterly performance provided substantial justification for investor optimism. The semiconductor firm posted earnings per share of $1.64 for the period ending July 28, significantly exceeding the $1.11 consensus forecast by $0.53. Revenue reached $784.79 million, surpassing analyst expectations of $743.28 million.
While revenue showed a 4.2% decline year-over-year, compared to the $0.92 EPS delivered in the comparable period last year, the magnitude of the earnings beat captured market attention. Following the announcement, nine analysts revised their forward earnings projections upward.
Looking ahead to fiscal year 2027, Qorvo has established EPS guidance of $7.00. Current analyst consensus projects $6.42 EPS for the ongoing fiscal year.
Wall Street Price Targets Trail Current Trading Levels
Interestingly, despite the robust share price performance, Wall Street’s consensus hasn’t kept pace with the rally. The average analyst price target remains at $94.00, representing a substantial discount to QRVO’s current trading level.
Among analysts tracking the stock, three maintain Buy ratings, fourteen assign Hold ratings, and one recommends Sell.
UBS emerged as one of the more bullish voices, elevating its price target from $91 to $96 while reaffirming a “Buy” rating on July 29. Wall Street Zen upgraded QRVO from “Hold” to “Buy” in early August. Conversely, Citigroup reduced its target from $100 to $95 while maintaining a “Neutral” stance.
Both TD Cowen and Weiss Ratings sustained their “Hold” recommendations.
Technical indicators show the stock’s 50-day simple moving average at $96.22 and its 200-day average at $91.31, positioning the current price substantially above both benchmarks. The 12-month low was recorded at $74.92.
Regarding insider activity, SVP Frank P. Stewart divested 8,279 shares on August 31 at an average of $94.72 per share. CFO Grant Brown sold 5,179 shares on August 17 at $97.50 each. Over the previous 90 days, company insiders have sold a combined 62,309 shares valued at approximately $6.3 million.
