The blockchain payments company Ripple has finalized a long-term sponsorship agreement with the University of Florida’s athletic department, introducing XRP visibility to a legendary college football stadium.
Beginning in the 2026 football season, the XRP logo will be prominently displayed on the playing surface at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the iconic venue known to fans as “The Swamp.” Additionally, XRP branding will be integrated throughout Florida Athletics’ digital channels and at various sporting events.
Partnership Details and Value
The Associated Press reported, based on sources with knowledge of the agreement, that the partnership is projected to bring in as much as $5 million each year for the University of Florida’s athletic programs.
Beyond logo placement, the collaboration extends to educational programming. Ripple plans to provide resources and instruction on financial literacy and technological innovation for Florida’s student-athletes and broader university community, with content encompassing conventional finance alongside cryptocurrency topics.
Neither organization publicly revealed the specific financial terms of the arrangement.
Scott Stricklin, the Athletics Director for the University of Florida, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s alignment with the institution’s values.
“The University of Florida has consistently championed innovation and cutting-edge technology to improve our fan experience and strengthen our athletic programs,” Stricklin stated. “Ripple stands out as a pioneering force in the financial technology sector, and we’re thrilled to bring XRP into the Gator family.”
The University of Florida fields teams in the Southeastern Conference, maintaining 21 varsity sports programs that support over 500 student-athletes. The institution boasts 49 national titles spanning 16 different sports.
The Gators football team captured national championships in 1996, 2006, and 2008, establishing itself as one of the SEC’s premier programs with a devoted national following.
Expanding Athletic Sponsorships
The Florida agreement represents Ripple’s second prominent collegiate athletics partnership within recent months.
In July 2026, the company announced its role as official sports sponsor for the University of Kansas Jayhawks, marking what was described as the inaugural appearance of cryptocurrency branding on jerseys for a major collegiate athletics program.
