The connected operations cloud provider delivered impressive fiscal Q2 financial results Thursday evening, propelling IOT shares 14.4% higher on Friday to approximately $44.33. The stock had previously climbed 5.3% on Thursday, settling at $38.75 before the earnings announcement.
Second-quarter revenue totaled $508.4 million, marking a 30% year-over-year increase and significantly surpassing the analyst consensus of $483 million. Adjusted profit per share of 20 cents exceeded Wall Street’s projection of 16 cents.
The results marked Samsara’s fourth consecutive quarter delivering GAAP profitability, a significant achievement for a business that previously operated with negative cash flow.
Annual recurring revenue advanced to $2.125 billion, growing 30%. Net new ARR totaled $134 million, representing 28% growth.
The company welcomed a record 242 new customers generating over $100,000 in ARR throughout the quarter. Additionally, 20 customers surpassing $1 million in ARR joined the platform.
ARR derived from customers exceeding the $1 million threshold surpassed $500 million. This metric has expanded by more than 50% year over year for three consecutive quarters.
Platform Adoption Accelerates Among Enterprise Clients
Within the customer base generating over $100,000 in ARR, 96% utilize a minimum of two Samsara solutions, while 72% leverage three or more products. The company reports that enterprise clients are transitioning from isolated applications to comprehensive deployments spanning multiple departments and operational areas.
“What begins with one use case often grows into the platform they rely on across assets, teams, and workflows,” said Amit Vyas, Samsara’s chief revenue officer.
Throughout the past year, customers digitized 340 million workflows and tracked 105 billion miles using Samsara. The platform also processed over 30 trillion data points, reflecting more than 40% growth compared to the previous year.
Emerging product lines generated over 20% of net new annual contract value for the third consecutive quarter.
Expanded AI Product Portfolio
The company introduced multiple new AI-powered solutions during the quarter. The additions include a Bluetooth tracking label, an AI shipment center, and AI agents designed for safety management, maintenance operations, and dispatch coordination.
Enhanced camera capabilities now offer rear collision alerts, blind-spot warnings, and a 360-degree vehicle perspective. Customer adoption of select newer AI features increased more than fourfold during the previous two months.
The company emphasized that the extensive data volume it captures provides its AI systems with enhanced contextual understanding, resulting in superior performance.
Management elevated full-year revenue guidance to a range of $2.043 billion-$2.047 billion, up from the previous forecast of $2.005 billion-$2.013 billion. Adjusted EPS guidance for the full year was also increased to 76-78 cents from the prior 70-72 cents range.
Analyst sentiment remains strongly bullish on IOT, with 12 Buy ratings and four Hold ratings issued over the past three months.
The consensus price target stands at $52.73, suggesting approximately 36% potential upside from current trading levels. Multiple analysts have already elevated their price targets following the quarterly results.
IOT shares have gained 9.31% year to date, though they remain down 7.94% over the trailing 12-month period.
