S&P Global has spearheaded a strategic funding round for Kaiko, the Paris-headquartered crypto market data provider, bringing its Series B fundraising total to $110 million.
The financing attracted participation from several prominent financial institutions and blockchain firms, including BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Broadridge, Canton Foundation, Coinbase Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, Stellar, and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments.
According to Kaiko, the fresh capital will fuel growth in its primary digital asset data operations while accelerating development of data infrastructure tailored for tokenized financial instruments.
Beyond the financial commitment, the participating investors will become members of an industry working group coordinated by Kaiko. This collaborative initiative aims to establish robust data frameworks and infrastructure supporting tokenized financial assets.
Ambre Soubiran, CEO of Kaiko, emphasized that the investor consortium brings together expertise spanning essential domains such as asset pricing, trading operations, capital markets, and blockchain technology development.
The firm initially secured $53 million in its Series B round during June 2022. Kaiko has chosen not to publicly disclose its updated valuation following this extension.
Strategic Growth Through Acquisitions and Partnerships
Kaiko has executed an aggressive expansion strategy to strengthen its institutional capabilities. The company completed the acquisition of DeFi infrastructure specialist Cometh in May 2026, followed by the purchase of American digital asset data company Amberdata in June 2026.
This February marked a significant partnership announcement with Bloomberg, aimed at delivering licensed financial market data through blockchain networks. More recently, the company unveiled the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices in collaboration with S&P Dow Jones Indices.
Cathy Clay, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices, characterized the investment as demonstrating strong confidence in digital asset market evolution.
The data platform currently provides coverage across more than 150 cryptocurrency exchanges and blockchain protocols, serving institutional clients that include platforms like Taurus.
Traditional Finance Embraces Blockchain-Based Securities
The investment in Kaiko aligns with an accelerating trend of established financial institutions expanding their involvement in blockchain-enabled financial markets.
This March, Intercontinental Exchange, which operates the New York Stock Exchange, announced a collaboration with Securitize focused on developing infrastructure for tokenized securities trading.
During the same period, Nasdaq obtained Securities and Exchange Commission authorization to conduct a pilot program for trading tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds. Nasdaq also forged a partnership with Payward, Kraken’s parent entity, to bridge traditional regulated equity markets with blockchain-based tokenized equities.
In July, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation successfully executed production-level transactions using tokenized assets alongside over 30 financial institutions. The organization plans to launch its comprehensive tokenization service in October.
The SEC has also scheduled a roundtable discussion for September 17 to address preparations for implementing 24-hour equity trading in United States markets.
With its expanding roster of institutional investors and recent strategic acquisitions, Kaiko is strategically positioned to serve as a critical data infrastructure provider as traditional financial institutions deepen their engagement with blockchain-based markets.
